Kava Magnetic Knife Holder (15.75 Inch) — Stainless Steel Knife Magnetic Holder

There isn't anything to dislike about this product! I wish I'd have gotten something like this years ago!Installation: Very easy. Much easier than other designs from what I researched. Here's how this one works: you install a stainless steel plate on the wall. You can get it level, get it where you want it, and then mark the two holes to drill. In my case, I was installing this on a tile backsplash. I set it up so I could install it on a grout line, so I would not have to drill through tile. It worked brilliantly (though I did use my own anchors because I felt like the drywall anchors it came with didn't have enough 'grip'.) Then, you simply allow the big magnet (which is REALLY powerful) to snap into place on that place you installed. Very easy; just watch your fingers, as the box says!!!Function: Nice, strong magnet, but not too strong either. I have a huge meat cleaver on it. No problem! I have a nice set of Tojiro DP knives on it. No problem. Also, it's not hard to remove the knives. It's just the perfect magnet strength, in my opinion.Aesthetics: Well, this is always subjective, but I love the look of it. It's simply yet attractive. If you're going for the stainless steel look, it's super sleek. I love it.All in all, I think it's a great product at a great price. Nicely done, Kava!

Poor quality.

I absolutely love this. The magnetic hold is so strong it can hold my knives even though they are sheathed with a plastic cover. Some people have mentioned that there is a potential to clip your fingers when installing it, but I didn't have that problem at all. After I attached the base plate to the wall (using 4 small Command removable adhesive stickies), I just let the magnetic bar snap on to it. It positions itself well, so I didn't have to make adjustments to it. In fact, I could have just left the base plate stuck on the bar and attached the whole thing to the wall. Didn't have to separate them.Anyway, as a knife holder, it's amazing! I was expecting a weak hold because of the plastic sheaths but nuuoooo, it's strong! In fact, I think the plastic sheaths help as it lessens the strength of the hold so it's easier for me to pull the knives off the block. But yeah, no worries about it not being strong enough.

There are several reasons to be very satisfied with this knife holder. It is strongly magnetic, I don't need to worry about a knife getting knocked off inadvertently. It is easy to take off a knife and replace it. It is a simple design and so beautiful and sleek in appearance.I had intended to use the knife holder on the wall- and installation looked simple, but I first tried it out on the side of the refrigerator (the mounting plate is not needed at all in this case and it applies directly). It looked so good there and worked so well so I ordered a second holder and its now on the refrigerator also.

The title says it all. Great product. I have very heavy, full tang knives and it has no problem holding 7 of them. I removed the metal piece that gives you the option of mounting it to the wall and it clung right to the side of my fridge. Quick and easy. Not to mention it looks just as nice as the rest of the more expensive products.

This purchase was a total score! I love this knife holder. Easy to install. Good, strong magnetism.
