After orthopedic surgery, I had some difficulty getting off the toilet seat. I tried free standing raised seat with rails, and although may good options available the small opening made use very difficult. This device does not raise the toilet seet, but does give handy rail to help getting up. As noted by others, it is stable when pushing up. Sideways pressure may cause it to slip. The unit is light, easy to move from one toilet to another and is helpful. No other temporary rail device is as convenient and light. Your needs may be different, but this rail system works best for me.

I recently had foot surgery with strict orders for “non-weight bearing” for several weeks. This product has been a life saver. It was easy to assemble. While it is light weight, it provides the stability needed to get off the commode without assistance and enough stability that my foot hasn’t been needed for balance. It is freestanding so no installation is needed for use with the commode. I really like this feature because it can be moved to a different bathroom as needed. We are using it in a small bathroom. The size of the railing works well in a small bathroom. I will say normally, I am an able bodied person without other health concerns. This product does come with 2 suction cups to adhere it to the floor for more stability. If the user has other impairments, needs transfer assistance normally, or is a larger person please investigate more since this has a light weight construction.

The item was extremely easy to finish putting together and seems to be made of sturdy components. After putting it together and installing it over the toilet, the safety rail is not completely stable. However, after rechecking all the parts and connections, I feel confident it is safe and strong enough. I am in my 80's with compromised knees and the safety rail is a great relief to them. I would recommend even with the initial question regarding sturdiness. I think it is fine. I also like the fact that it is very easy to fold up and store or travel with.

This is my 2nd purchase. Bought one for my home to help elderly mother using toilet. She wanted one for her own home as she preferred it to the grab bars she has. Item is very sturdy and easy to assemble and adjust to necessary height. Definitely recommend.

We needed a portable toilet handrail for traveling with my 85 year old mother. She does ok without a raised seat but needs something to grab onto to lift herself up. We can't always get an ADA room. This is a perfect solution! Folds flat, tubes insert and click in place with button/hole connections to adjust to appropriate height. The whole thing will fit neatly in a suitcase and will be easy to set up if needed. Also love that it came with a suction grab bar for the shower! An extra bonus & big help! We have 3 trips planned with Mom this year - we are all so happy with this purchase!

The toilet safety rails are great! But even better was the customer service team who handled an issue on 2 pieces that I lost. I contacted customer service and got a quick reply from Kelly. Kelly made sure that we were able to identify the correct parts and arranged an immediate replacement at no cost! And this was not a product issue, but because I lost 2 clips. I had lost the 2 clips that lock the arms. I contacted GreenChief customer service and got a very quick and responsive reply. Together we confirmed exactly which two pieces we had lost, they arranged for a free replacement and shipped them out the next day. I am totally impressed with the communication and understanding of their customer service team and especially Kelly who was terrific. The team was helpful, responsive and cared about me as a customer - even though it had been 2 years since I purchased their product on Amazon! I highly recommend this product and am extremely impressed with the level of customer service they provided.

This was easy to put together and is adjustable which is great. However, it is very wobbily because of the all the flexibility in adjustment and not being actually fastened to anything (free standing). The large suction cup feet help and should be provided for all four legs. We found they worked best on rear legs and floor needs to be a solid floor (no carpet or mats) for them to work. They dont actually suction to the floor very well because even when clean, the floor just isnt clean and smooth enough, but the large surface helps with stability. Best to use two hands when lifting off toilet, using one hand makes the rails very unstable. Its a good option and see other more expensive ones that attach to the toilet or have a way to brace against the toilet that likely are more stable than this one. It can fold up like a walker when not in use so that is good.

These rails help a senior not get stuck sitting - they are a must have.
