Does exactly what I need it to do
I use this product to identify fibre cores and problem solve ones that dont seem to be working or connected correctly. This product has the power to show breaks in the bends and identify the other end easily.

Great bit of kit very powerful. Easy to see if a splice has broken. Never a problem finding the b end in a rack.

The light is not very powerful .

When it worked it worked well. After 3 months it stopped working. I contacted GESD the manufacturer and told them that I tried new batteries and they sent me a message back and told me to replace batteries. ??? So now I will buy a different version of this. Very disappointed.Update:; Changed to 5 stars as the customer service was very good when I contacted them again. They sent me replacements next day and sent 2 of them. Wow! They are worth the effort. Buy from them without hesitation.

If these are in fact 30mW they are the dimmest 30mW I have ever had.
These seemed only as bright as my 10mW units. Not really bright enough for day time use compared to my other 30mW units. The picture above shows 4 VFL's labeled 30mW. The end ones are noticeably dimmer than the middle two. The first from the left is the ones from this purchase. The Middle two are from different vendors but have the same color covers and switches. The end one is from a 4th vendor. It does not take long to figure out Neither of these VFLs on the ends are either not 30mWs or they have very low quality emitters. It is painfully apparent the end VFLs are not nearly as bright as the center two VFLs. But they are all marked as 30mW. All VFls are the same distance from a white wall. All had just had new batteries installed.

If you need to find your light 💡 this is it!!!!!
Love this fault locator… my company bought us viavi portable ones that give a lower light level, this one is by far 30x brighter than it. If it’s a white fiber line it’ll glow with this locator, only tad bit flaw is the turn on/off switch, it easy slides so I end up finding it on at times when I know I turned it off. I use regular cheap batteries and they last about 2-3 months. Very happy with this locator.
