Dakota AlertRubber Hose, 25 ft. (RH)

Does not last more than a year
I have purchased three of these hoses in three years. I use it for a driveway doorbell and it doesn’t work half the time. It cracks and busts very easily. I have to keep covering the cracks with electric tape for it to work. Even then it is hit and miss. For the price, you would expect it would last a lot longer than one year.

This hose is a piece of trash.
We used this hose in a Dakota Alert system. It has only been in use four months and is already split in many places and it is no longer effective. Don't waste your money on this one.

Cracking hose
I have two Dakota systems which I have found the most reliable driveway alarms that I have had. I have had the metal detecting type and the motion detecting type and was not really happy with any of them. Having said that I do agree that the hose does split. I have a solution that some of you may want to try. I have one on a gravel road sitting right in the rocks and has worked for several years without the hose going bad. I might also add that this one is a business, not a high traffic business but more than a house.I purchased a decommissioned fire hose slipped it over the rubber hose and it solved the problem completely. You can search for them on the Internet. They’re not hard to fine and they’re relatively inexpensive. I would suggest a 3 inch hose or larger. I believe I purchased a 2 inch and it was quite snug and a little bit hard to get through. I hope you people with hose problems find this helpful.
