THIS is what your bird should be eating!!! I want to give the company a hug!
To all bird owners: Please please please know that most of the bird pellets and seed mixes pet stores sell and bird owners are told to feed their birds are not good for birds. They are high in fat, often rancid or have old seeds and fungus/dust that hurts birds, and often include soybean oil, sugar, flavoring and synthetic vitamins that birds were never made to digest or live on. Yeah they're cheap but they are not bird food. When I found this brand, saw the ingredients, and then received a fresh product that my birds instantly loved, I wanted to write a love letter to the company and send a bag of this to every bird owner on the planet. Seriously. I probably should have calmed down before I wrote this review. More details: The "mini" size is perfect for smaller conures, lovebirds, cockatiels, and parakeets because you can break up the larger pieces if they don't. My birds break them up on their own so I didn't find the pellets too long but you can also soften them if your bird is used to wet foods. I would say the mini size could go up to most smaller conures as well like Sun conures, pineapple, etc. I try to feed my birds (parakeets, cockatiels, conures, love birds, and up) mostly sprouted grains like wild rice, quinoa, mung bean, lentils, wheat berries, etc, along with a constant supply of organic leafy greens and fruit (the ratio depends on the species) with FRESH seeds (not old, rancid ones found in bird seed mixes) only as a treat or during times when they need more calories. (PSA: please don't feed your bird peanuts.) I know very few bird owners have that type of time or OCD but I know just giving birds seed and old colored, "fruit" flavored pellets is not right and leads to health issues and eventually pain and suffering for both you and your birds. This routine of constantly preparing, sprouting, storing, and replacing wet food throughout the day before it goes bad is difficult to keep up for most people and hard to ensure a pet sitter will do if you go away. It also can create nutrient gaps if your bird is picky and will only eat certain fresh foods. (And most pet store birds won't even try fresh food because they were never shown what was edible beyond seed and need a flock or a very patient, dedicated owner to do that for them.) This brand of food has EXACTLY what I was searching for to remedy the above issues. AND it's fresh. AND my birds actually eat it and don't waste half of it like they would cheaper mixes. Yes, there will be "hulls" or crumbs left behind because birds are used to hulling their food but comparatively, they consume more of this than other brands where they just pick out the millet and canary seed and leave everything else (smaller birds, that is). All in all, you actually get more bang for your buck with this because it's so much more nutrient packed and high quality than cheap brands (I'm looking at you, Kaytee). Trust me, even as someone who chronically counts every penny I spend, THIS food is worth it! To the company: I love you, I appreciate you, please do not change this product in favor of cutting costs and making more money off consumers by using cheaper ingredients.

Could use smaller pellets size for parakeets
The one thing that got me to use this brand it the organic fresh high quality ingredients. Roudybush uses corn , soybean oil and filler ingredients that are harmful in the long run to their livers killing them faster. These are 95% organic ingredients. The highest ive come across. My pineapple conure is pretty picky but she caught on right away choosing them. Of course she will always prefer seeds over this but shes actively choosing to eat these. Im so happy i found this brand with quality ingredients i can trust. The food smells fresh and it does crumble. My parakeet is even pickier but she prefers smaller pellets . She may take longer to adjust but if they have nothing else to eat they have to eat this. Try cutting cold turkey but MONITOR that they are still eating. Try mixing in less of their regular and majority of this to transition if they are having a hard time. Small bag for $20 a bit expensive but they dont go through it as fast as regular seeds. Please consider making smaller sized pellets for her small beaks!

Lasts a long time for one budgie
It is a little expensive but itโs hard to find good food that is also good for your bird so Iโm not complaining especially considering that the 4 pound bag last me 4 months. It does smell funny but itโs animal food sooo. At first I thought the pellets may be too big for my budgie because he wasnโt eating it only pecking at it but after a couple weeks of wetting the pellets and slowly letting them dry over the next few weeks he got to where he is comfortable breaking them up completely dry. He came off a hard millet based seed diet when I got him from the pet store so it was hard getting him to eat this new food but now itโs all he eats and I also love the Tops bird seed and so does he. I love how thereโs no color to the pellets and that theyโre cold pressed rather than baked. I sleep much better at night knowing my budgie is eating healthy.

The best product on the market, but..
These are the best quality pellets Iโve found so far, the ingredients are simply amazing! No soy, no corn, full of greens and vitamins. This is simply a dream to feed your birds. BUT the size is not mini and too big for my parakeets, thatโs why they are not eating it. Iโm trying to break each pellet in 3, so it takes me so much time, but even so itโs still big. Iโm praying and being patient that they will become accustomed to the size and will start eating them. The smell is natural fresh greens, you can know you are feeding smth good, but the size disappoints. Will attach photo to compare sizes

Great Value for a great product
Yes, I prefer to purchase food for my bulk for my parrots and this suits me just right. I know it seems like it has a large price point but when you do the math it is just the perfect price. the food quality is great it was recommended to me by a professional in the Avian world. It has what i consider a normal smell for pellets. the appearance in the basic but sturdy the bag is of very good quality and makes sure that the product does not spill in shipping. I'm really not buying this large quantity for the looks but for the value. All my birds have a very diverse diet and this is certainly a good product that they have every day along side their fresh foods, fruits, flowers, teas, etc.

First time on pellets made easy!
I have a cockatiel that was only weaned about a month and a half ago and just started him on pellets this past week. I mixed these, Zupreem, and Ucello Gold together. I expected him to pick around the pellets for at least the first week. Instead, I found that he eats these the most! Easiest conversion EVER! And Iโm really happy that these add such a variation to his diet with fantastic ingredients offering a well rounded addition to his diet.

Misleading information about the size of the pellets
I believe the quality of the item itself is good (smells "healthy" - like dried vegetables and herbs, and the list of ingredients is great). I love that it doesn't contain any artificial coloring that was the selling point to me for this product. Unfortunately, the pellets are too large for budgies (they are not mini at all) and it's practically impossible to grind them to smaller pieces on your own (they would get powdered too easily). My parakeets will not eat them. I would definitely purchase them again if they were in the size proper for small birds (like in the attached picture comparing the pellets of the other brand that's size is perfect, but the product has artificial coloring in it that is bad for the birds).

Plastic package was ripped, pellet quality seems good.
The pellets are fine, the Quaker parrot seems to like them when offered from our hands. This was our first time buying, so we'll see if he easily adjusts over to them. The plastic packaging is not good quality though. It came punctured and some of the pellets had spilled out.
