I feel uneasy about giving this product one star, I would prefer to give it none. This is not a tool, it is a piece of scrap metal. It is misshapen, unsymmetrical and ultimately useless. The "hook" part of the "tool" is not flat or precise, it has no purchase when applying pressure and slips out with minimal force. The curved part is slightly angled and does not sit flush against the lockring, this causes the tool to slip when trying to be used. In the end, I damaged my hand and lockring and was unable to unscrew it. I own other "BBB" tools and components including a pedal spanner made from the exact same material, unlike this lockring "tool" it has been properly machined and is precise in its function. I have a hard time believing that this is a genuine "BBB" product. Furthermore, the picture is inaccurate, the handle on the product I received is black and blue with a different shape, it is uncomfortable to hold and use. The aforementioned pedal spanner from the same company does have the exact handle which is shown in the picture and it is much more comfortable. Do yourself a favour and avoid this item at all costs!

Sadly doesn't work on my bicyle e moter bottom bracket need something more specialised. Other than that seems like quite a sturdy piece of kit and ob its not going to fit everything.

The hook that engages with the lock ring is not finished squarely, but instead is V-shaped at the end. Therefore, when it is inserted into a slot on the lock ring, it just slides out, making the tool unusable.To make the tool usable, I filed a few mm off the end of the hook, to give it a square finish, so that it engages properly with the lock ring. The tool works perfectly after the this alteration, and other than this critical defect, it is well made and finished.It's crazy that the most critical part of the tool is so badly finished. If you are prepared to take file to it, it is a good tool at a good price. Shame it wasn't manufactured properly to begin with.
