Living now in an area very close to the ocean, there is salt in the rain and in condensation. My granddaughter suggested Rain X to wash the exterior of my home’s windows. It is not suggested in the instructions but with care to avoid painted surfaces (I just applied it to the window glass), it works like a charm! The rain water sheds off beautifully. I love clean windows! I love steak free, shiny windows! This applies so easily and wipes off so cleanly, window washing is No Big Deal!! I will be using it in my car windows also (as suggested) for the safety it provides in rain! Rainstorms are heavy and blurry windows are a hazard! I love this product and have no idea how I made it to nearly 70 without having used it!

This product is absolutely amazing. I have been using it since it hit store shelves and this is one of 2 glass cleaners I use, the other is for interior only. It is very effective at cleaning windows that have not been cleaned in years, as I recently used it on a truck that sat without being washed for 2 years. The difference between RainX and no RainX is night and day. It makes driving in the rain so much safer, especially if you live in any area with a rainy season. It also helps keep the wiper blades in working order as they do not have to work as hard to remove water. The spray bottle is easy to use, just twist the cap to the on setting and get to spraying. The bottle looks good and is comfortable to hold and use. As of yet, I have not noticed any streaking, but I always follow up with a dry microfiber after cleaning the windows. It is well worth the money. Once you start using RainX, you will never want to drive a vehicle without it again. 5 stars simply isn't enough for this product. Spray it on the glass, use a microfiber to wipe/clean the glass, then use a different, dry microfiber to remove any residue and you are done. Please, for your own safety, give it a try.

Who this product is for This product is a good fit for car owners who care about clear windshields and good visibility, especially during rain, and want to prevent water droplets and streaks from staying on the glass. How I used it I applied this product to the windshield of my Volvo S80 after washing the glass. The difference was noticeable almost immediately. Water started to bead up and run off the glass much more easily, and a clear water-repellent layer formed on the surface. The glass itself looked very clean and streak-free. Pros Easy to apply directly onto the glass and wipe off with a cloth Creates a clearly visible water-repellent effect The result improves if you let the product dry for about an hour and avoid water right after application Leaves the glass clean without smudges Cons For best results, you need to allow some drying time and avoid getting the glass wet immediately after application Final thoughts / recommendation I definitely recommend this product. It does exactly what it’s designed to do and improves visibility by helping water run off the glass. It’s also affordable and well priced for the result you get, which makes it a good value overall.

Cleans - yes Streak free - yes Quick and easy to apply -yes Repels rain - well kinda. You need to reapply at least once a week.

I use this for my mask/goggles for swimming. Works great to keep them clean & eliminates fog.

I have old wavy glass in my 1870 Victorian. We live on a busy street and the road dirt constantly sticks to the windows. They water spot all the time if they get hit by the rain. This stops that. The water beads up and runs off without leaving spots or trails. It also made the glass super shiny, crystal clear and it stays that way. I put on the bathroom mirror and it doesn't fog up as easily. My housekeeper said to use it on the shower surround and doors to keep the soap scum off. That is my next use for it! Now for the car windows....I will get to them, sooner or later!

The first time we purchased Rain-X was in the US. A wind shield wiper had failed and come off, during a heavy downpour, while driving on a freeway in peak hour traffic. The visibility was appalling on the side with the failed wiper blade. Not wishing to experience this problem ever again, we tried out Rain-X. It worked like a charm. The wipers were rarely even needed after applying it according to the directions. I should add that my wife insisted the cloth used to apply the product, needed to stay out in the garage until wash day, because she did not want that chemical smell in the house.
