Start your own Weird Oh Collection with this 4 pack! Great reissues by Hawk Models. Customize your own Wild, Wacky Monster. HISTORY: A very strange thing happened 47 years ago. In 1963, with the indispensable artwork of the famous Bill Campbell, weirdoes became the most popular guys and girls on campus. Who'd have thought! The Weird-ohs set of 12 model kits, each depicting an individual of incredible weirdness, sold by the bezillions and became a 1960's phenomenon. The popularity of Weird-ohs continued under the inventive direction of the Hawk company for years. In addition to the core model kits there were collector cards from Fleer, jigsaw puzzles, T-shirts, decals, key chains, posters, Halloween masks, even paint-by-number sets, as well as LP’s. Who would have guessed that a dozen bizarre model kits would have been the spark that created the wacky surf band, Mr. Gasser and the Weirdos. Usually you would expect it to be the other way around, with the band creating merchandise to enhance their visibility and net worth. Oh, well, weird is as weird does. These are re-released plastic models from the original molds and brand new model kits. Each figure measures approximately 7" long. Paint and customize him or her in your own weird way. Horrible parts made from the finest mouldy polystyrene.

Decided to dive back in to the world of plastic model making after a 40 year hiatus. I picked these kits because they seemed easy to build and I've been a fan of these characters for quite a while now. Got through Freddy Flameout and Davey without any problems - they were actually quite fun to build and paint. However, when it came time to put Huey's Hut Rod together, I immediately noticed that two essential parts (#3) for the Rod's frame were missing along with a couple of other parts (rear wheel covers [#15] and the 'wood' for the Podunk Holler sign [#42]). Trying to figure out if I can get replacement parts somewhere because without part #3, the kit is useless. Haven't checked the Drag Hag kit yet. That being said, I still recommend these kits whether you are a beginner, an expert, or former model builder coming out of retirement.

Model Club
Fun models to build for beginning modelers and skilled modelers alike. Purchased for 5th to 8th grade students in school model building club and they really enjoy painting them strange color combinations and then putting them together.
