Frasier: Season 3

Still as funny as I remember!
For as old as this series is, it doesn't feel dated. It's still as hilarious now as it was all those years ago.

More Laughs with Every Season
Having lived overseas for 18 years, I missed the entire run of "Frasier". Not generally a fan of spin-offs, I didn't pause long enough to watch an episode the few times I did stumble across one on TV. I had no idea what I was missing. Since buying season 1, I have been laughing my head off.The writing is good enough to make Shakespeare proud, but it takes excellent acting to bring comedy to life. From Kelsey himself all the way down to Eddie the dog, each performer is a master of his or her art. Each story's focus is fairly distributed among the characters. The arc covering Niles' separation from his unseen wife, Maris, opens the door for him to get closer to Daphne, who herself has a relationship with building contractor Joe. Fortunately, we don't see much of Joe, with no explanation for his missing presence save at the beginning of one episode. Even Frasier is allowed an interlude with a new boss seen for the first half of the season. Let there be no claims of age discrimination, either. Martin has his day with a much younger woman, originally the object of Frasier's affections.Since I am buying these DVD sets for my wife, and she only gets them on her birthday or at Christmas, it will be the end of the year before I get to watch season 4. I know it will be worth the wait.

Dare you not to laugh!
It's just laugh out loud fun. I love the season 2 The Candidate episode. Same for 2 Episode 17, Daphne's Room . I dare anyone not to laugh at those-too funny!!!Other good ones:Roz in the doghouse Episode 12 .Season 9-6 Room full of heroes. Season 10 Episode 6 on the Bar Mitzvah is funAll Season 11 is fun. Just when you would think it would get old , it just gets better. . Such good writing as well as timing! In one episode it's Martin's birthday and when he blows out the candle all lights go out in the town (blackout)-Frazier cracks they do not have to worry about his dad's lung capacity.Has to be one of the best spin-offs ever as all the Cheers cast return episodes are fun as well.I don't watch with the little kiddies but it's fun when I'm ready to go to sleep-- humor to send me off to sleep laughing and smiling :-) Thanks Frasier Team

Season #3 is aces for me!
As a former reviewer put it "Frasier is still (and ALWAYS will) be in the building" for me. If you can't laugh at this comedy, there is not a funny bone in your body. I didn't get into the Frasier sitcom until season #5 Beware of Greeks. When he did that little dance ditty and his aunt started chasing him around that restaurant, I was hooked! The cast of characters play so well off one another. Each hold their own when one or the other is absent from a particular episode. Season #3 has most of the episodes I like from his entire series although all are enjoyable to watch. This sitcom actually had me going back to watch Cheer's episodes, which are incorporated into this sitcom's structure. It is enchanting and sophisticated: adult enough to where you are entertained and can pick up on the naughtiness, clean enough for family viewing with a younger audience. Highly recommended viewing and Season #5 is pretty tempting for me to purchase just for the Beware of Greeks episode. Enjoy!

Incredibley germaine , timeless, funny
Incredily well written, delivery of lines quick as a though done by Robin Williams, and many times the shows gently deliver examples of things we all do,, could do better, and even hints at ways we can better do things so we are more understanding - toleratnt... Have watched the program for over 2 years and the humor is still crisp, spot-on, and funny...

A new beginning! Act 3, Scene 1 coming?
Frasier's season finale marks the start of a new era in the life of Dr. Crane. Remember, he didn't re-marry or settle on a new career...there's much more to come. It's possible Frasier's headed for Roz's small Wisconsin hometown to settle down, then retire in Hawai'i (Act 4). Can you imagine the comedic episodes, Frasier's upper-class style adapting to rural farm-town life?...maybe never, but years of great material.I bought season three. No regrets. Memorable characters, great supporting cast, brilliant writing and hilarious delivery!
One of the best beloved comedy series with a great ensemble cast and brilliant writing throughout - still makes me laugh out loud! There's a reason this show remained highly rated throughout most of its eleven year run - although each of its characters is flawed they also remained highly relatable and endearing. Still entertaining today.

Season 3 - Frasier at it`s peak.
It`s been a few years since the last season of Frasier left our screens, but I still watch an episode most days, and certainly nothing funnier has been made since. Not much that is funnier was made before it either. I have minor gripes with some of the characters (Bulldog bores me and Daphne is occasionally irritating) but the consistently high calibre of the acting and writing (hell, even the subject matter of some episodes!) overrides these peeves. Some of my personal favourites are contained in this box set; "A Word To The Wise Guy" (featuring a great guest performance) and "High Crane Drifter" are particularly good. The former showcases the only occasion that Maris says "thank you" whilst Frasier`s experiences in the latter are not only chillingly similar to what I seem to go through everyday but contains many excellent moments; when Frasier learns that his new neighbour, heavy metaller Freddy Chainsaw, has sold 5 million copies of his latest album, he adds this to his "list of reasons to die" whilst Niles has to endure a hire car, something he calls a "hunchback"; Frasier`s determination to restore manners in Cafe Nervosa inspires callers to anarchy, such as fedexing one-hundred scorpions in the mail, dumping rotting shrimps in a neighbour`s air-con, and setting fire to lawns (guest voices including Eric Idle and Katrina Witt)). "Chess Pains" stars too, with it`s Freudian theme, exruciating sock-puppet show and bordering-on-psychopath obsession with winning. The quintet of shows with Mercedes Ruehl are definitely high points - it`s great to have someone other than the superlative David Hyde Pierce at Frasier`s intellectual level, and the animal attraction between Kate and Frasier leads to some very funny situations. I like "Shrink Rap" too, containing as it does one of my favourite lines - "I`m tired of your constant exaggerations! You always make everything sound 50,000 times worse than they are!" - and "Moon Dance" is quite beautiful and wonderfully acted. I suppose "Martin Does It His Way" is a weaker episode when judged against the above, and I don`t think anyone rates anything with Shelley Long in, do they? But hey, when you have lines like the one about gun play in the living room, it`s almost impossible to complain. High class throughout.

"Your lips say yes, but your cuticles speak volumes"
Another rich selection of great episodes. In this third season we see, for example, Crane and Crane set up business together has psychiatrists; there's a strike at the radio station; Frasier has an affair with the new station controller; Maris leaves Niles; Daphne meets Joe; Diane Chambers turns up; Noel is introduced; Niles gets a dog; and the final episode sees us witness Frasier's very first day on air. The set also includes the multi-authored and Kelsey Grammar-directed episode, `Moon Dance' that won an Emmy award.Extras are not generous on this set. All we have are two banal montages; one featuring Bulldog, the other the mystery that is Maris. There is also a thirteen minute feature where `The Crane Brothers Remember Season Three', and an eight-minute "Conversation with Art Director Roy Christopher'.Alas, the presence of canned laughter is now clearly present in this season. Perhaps they needed to fill the space after some of the cheap and easy `gags' that now appear with more regularity. But there are still some jewels to behold, and if you want to know what Niles means when he tells Frasier, "Your lips say yes, but your cuticles speak volumes", then you're going to have to buy the set.

funniest thing on tv
frasier was side-splitting funny since it's first episode, & unlike so many, it quite simply goes from strength to strength throughout it's long run. there are very few things i actually watch on tv. even fewer that i would consider buying on dvd. this is one of the very elite few. buy this only if you are happy to scream & laugh uproariously, all breathless & purple-faced as you grip your aching ribs & roll about punching the floor ;)

All good
As usual the standard of humour is high, so cleverly written and acted. Having the same actors in each series ensures consistancy. They had a winning formula and stuck to it. It's great to enjoy a laugh without loads of swearing
