This is a perfect solution for themed attraction builders.
Creating public spaces with themed audio tracks is a breeze using these MP3 players. All you need is a mini usb cable and a charging block to power the device and a male mini phono jack wired to an amplifier and speakers to complete the sound system. Load an audio file on a memory card and put it in the card reader. The stereo output is good. Jungle sounds in one section the attraction and a haunted theme in another. Perfect.

Convenient for certain applications
One of these I use to play a single 12-hour MP3 with continuous fan noise, was using a website with an RPi connected through bluetooth and just hooking this up to some speakers instead is far more reliable. Also handy for synth DIY and electronics work, a lot cheaper than blowing up a cell phone or fancier MP3 player. Only real complaint is the red blinking LED is too bright.

sound quality
if its being used as a speaker the sound quality is amazing i recommend using a 5 watt speaker. i use a 3 watt speaker and i think its to low of a capacity for the board. A con of this board is that the headphone jack its really a good quality.

Disappointing
The chip does work and play, I think the sound and volume capability is pretty good... but it lacks so many functions I see no applicable use. I wanted this to replace the soundtrack in an electronic toy with one off a flash mp3 when the button is pressed. But there appears to be no button press trigger ability, even if a button is wired up to it. What's more it does not even start at the beginning of the sound file when powered on, but continues from where it left off.Clicking the "REPEAT" button changes the light from slow blinking to fast blinking, but appears to make no difference at all. Will probably return these as I can't see a use for them.Too bad!

Worked great for my Altoids Mp3Player
It worked amazing for my DIY project. It sounds good for what it is I didn't expect a $1000 DAC for $6 and if you are listening to mp3s its all you need.

A funny way to listen to music
This little board is capable of playing MP3 and WAV files off a micro SD card for the low low price of $5. It gets quite hot so I haven't given it a case yet. The sound quality is absolutely horrid, the soldering is questionable in spots, and overall it's not near the quality I'd ever look for when it comes to making your own MP3 player. All that said, keeping it around as novelty joke MP3 player is something I plan on doing and was worth the $5.
