I then wasted a bunch of time fiddling with the combination wheels
Upon returning home from a recent trip and retrieving my luggage from the carousel, I immediately noticed that the luggage lock "loops" on the zippers of one of my bags had been cut. The TSA approved lock was still attached to one of them, and was bent. I checked to see if anything was missing but everything was there; however there was no card from TSA indicating they had opened the bag. This lead me to believe that for some reason they couldn't open the lock (it was at least 20 years old) and they cut the "loop" to open the bag for inspection. The bummer was that this resulted in the zipper having to be replaced, but the upside was that the bag is a Briggs & Riley, and while also being over 20 years old, the repair was covered under their lifetime warranty (5 stars to them!). Seeing as how the rest of my locks are from the same decade I decided it was time for new ones. There is a mind boggling number of luggage locks on Amazon, but after much research and reading of reviews, I settled on the Ody Travel Gear locks and ended up placing two orders for four locks. When the first two locks arrived, I reviewed the "instructions" on how to change the combination and changed it on the first lock. When I picked up the second lock I noticed that the combination wheels were not set to the factory default 0-0-0. No amount of pushing down on the release button on top of the lock and tugging on the cable would open it. I attempted to reset the combination by pushing in the button on the bottom of the lock, but it wouldn't budge. I then wasted a bunch of time fiddling with the combination wheels, turning it back to 0-0-0 and trying other combinations but to no avail. On the lock that was operable, I noted that the combination numbers had to be REALLY, REALLY aligned perfectly in order to unlock. In addition, the release button on top was somewhat stiff and jerky and the cable had to be pulled really hard to get it to release. I assumed that this was because the lock was new and that it would wear in.The second set of locks arrived and guess what? One of them is just like the one described above, only much, much worse. Again the numbers have to be precisely aligned and after pushing a couple of times on the release button to get it to go down all the way, I had to wiggle the cable around in the receptacle while pulling really hard on it to get it to release. The second of these two lock seems to work ok, not great, but ok, so I ended up with 2 out of 4 locks being somewhat useable. I have traveled extensively to Europe and Asia for many years and have never had a problem with my ancient Pacsafe, Eagle Creek and even older Prestolock, so don't believe this is a case of "user error". I am somewhat leery of depending on the two remaining locks, as I can picture being at some destination and being unable to open the Ody Travel Gear locks, so am now looking at alternatives. I am leaning towards the Landing Gear combination lock from Venture 4th based again on reviews as well as the excellent reputation they seem to have for both products and customer service.A week ago I sent an email to the Seller describing the situation and asked if they had any suggestions. I never received an answer or response of any kind, so have returned the defective lock to Amazon.Based on the 2 out of 4 locks either being defective, damaged or just plain rough, and the lack of response from the Seller, i cannot recommend the Ody Travel Gear locks.

Locks Work Well Numbers Very Small
I travel at least 4 days a week for my job. I use several of these to lock up my soft luggage. The reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that the numbers are to small to see without glasses if you need reading glasses. This is somewhat of a pain in the butt. Every time you have to open your luggage you have to fish out your reading glasses to see the numbers. I can read a newspaper without glasses but not see the numbers on the lock. My point is the company made them really small. The locks have all worked really well this aside. Maybe they could offer a large print edition.

love em !
Gotta say, lm very pleased with my decision to purchase these locks. First of all you really cant beat the price for a quality product, packaged well, came in earlier than expected, easy instructions, and the fact you can create your own combination. And that they're not real big and bulky. I also like the smaller diameter flexible cable because it fits really well in the zippers in my carry bag. I'm more than likely to make another purchase in the near future. And I would definitely recommend them.

Ordered three packages, so as to have extras on hand. This is a quality product, fairly priced (though I purchased for a bit less), fast shipping. Seller seems earnestly concerned about customer satisfaction, and follows up with the customer. Read many customer reviews before ordering. Though many other customers appreciated the luggage tags included, I ordered for what I perceived to be a quality product. Combination reset requires two hands, one of which needs to be exerting constant pressure on the reset button with tool of choice while in progress, but the process is uncomplicated and manageable, even for a person with mild arthritis. Agreed with other reviewers, the push button release on top is a nice feature. Have travelled abroad with two of the locks. Worked well, no problems. The dials on one seem to have wandered a bit from the mark, but the lock opens fine once the dials are approximate same offset. I researched competing products carefully before purchasing. I would recommend this product to friends/family.

I liked the ease of changing the combo on these locks
This is the first time I bought locks for my suitcase. I liked the ease of changing the combo on these locks. What I was surprised about is they fit into the zipper holes and provide some level of security. Even with TSA approval on the locks I don't expect them to keep a pro out of my bags but TSA can open them with the master key for inspection. They can stay locked for everybody else.

Good luggage locks
These are strong luggage locks that work well and are priced fairly. They were easy to program to my desired combination, and they open/close without a lot of hassle. Unlike some other brands I've tried, the combinations are easy to read, even in bright or low lighting. They fit all of the different luggage I tried them on, from a backpack to a hard-sided carry-on and a few other large duffels.Definitely worth a look.

Very easy to use
I have to admit that I like these, easy to use and, with the small press button release, simple to open. No more lost keys! They are breakable though and on my last trip the airline, which shall remain nameless, managed to snap one off. "Loving" a padlock seems a bit extreme but they are very handy.

Nice solid lock
They seem sturdy and solid. I like the push button feature that unlocks the cable. I haven't used it so I don't know how they hold up yet. The cable does seem a bit on the smaller side but I think they will hold up fine with normal travel.
