Exactly What I Need For The Job
The weight of our flagpole and holder was a bit much for the wood it was screwed into. Oddly, the wood snapped across a 4 ft. length, and was barely holding on. The wood which is around the opening of a porch, is 12" deep x 1.5" high and over 7 ft long. I decided to use wood glue and knew I'd have to secure it with a clamp to dry properly. It is always a great pleasure and help to find exactly what I need on Amazon in a hurry especially. This 12" clamp is perfect for the job; the price is more than fair, and it maneuvers well.

Clamps
Overall, these are fine. They clamp well, however, the smooth wood handles make it difficult to spin when tight. I would prefer clamps with rubber grips in the future.

best balance of price and quality
There are better clamps out there, including from Bessey, and there are cheaper clamps, but I think these are the best balance of price vs quality. (Of course using the right type of clamp for the job matters too.)I got some similar clamps on ebay for a fair amount less, but the quality just isn't there. The finish on the jaws has big globs on it, the clutches are harder to release and aren't consistent from clamp to clamp, and the protective pads are flimsy and don't stay in place at all. They still work, but I don't think I'll be getting any more of them.Bessey also has similar, more expensive clamps without the clutch, that you just rock to move. That gives a little more convenience, but at least for my level of amateur woodworking, it's not worth the extra money. Then there's the really nice parallel clamps which are in a whole different class. I may get four of those for certain jobs that need them, but I certainly can't afford to stock up on them. These clamps have a nice, consistent finish, feel solid, have good pads, and can also apply a lot more force than regular quick-clamps. Yet they're still cheap enough that you can afford to get a large number of them.

Economy for sure but lots of value and uses
I started using 3 foot economy bar clamps just like this and liked them so much that I added additional sizes when they went on sale (use camelcamelcamel to track historical price of an amazon item and set your desired price) if you are not in a hurry. These work like their big brothers and come in very handy. I can't say enough good things about them, but as I do more and more wood working have good reliable (won't break the bank) clamps is the secret.

Easy to use! Had to use it for a project!
I needed to straighten one of my doors as it was warping, and this did a great job with it!It was able to put it back in place so I can close it smoothly.

Great, versatile, clamp for the weekend woodworker
Usage is straightforward and easy. Just yesterday I had a half-lap joint that needed clamped into place. This easily did the job and now the joint is tight and sturdy. Without this clamp, I would have had to make another pass with the table saw and run the risk of making the joint too large and having a bad fit. I found a use for it the day I got it. Steve Ramsay - Woodworking for Mere Mortals on YouTube recommended these and I cannot agree more.
