I was skeptical about but thought the $20 was worth the risk and it paid off!Without detergent the laundry comes out fresh AND clean!! I washed our dog bed and blankets first. For the first time EVER they came out of the laundry without smelling like a wet dog!Our son works on a factory line. He comes home smelling like he took a bath in oil. One wash and the smell was gone! No detergent before could cut through the smell, it would mask/lessen it, but not get rid of it. Now it is GONE!The jeans in the pictures are just examples. They do recommend to pretreat tough stains. I wanted to see what would happen if I did nothing the first wash on one pair. You will see my notes.What has me most excited is now I do not have to worry about sensitive skin. It seems like every couple months something in the detergent changes and my daughter and I react. Now, without the chemicals I do not have to worry about that. They indicated if you would like a fragrance you can add a few drops of essential oils to your laundry.All I can say is, it is worth a shot in my opinion. I followed the directions and let it soak one hour before using it in the first load and it works! I've included some pictures as proof. I've used it on all size of loads as well.

Also, I don't understand the negative reviews about clothes not getting clean or having to prime the ball or not being able to use it more than once per week. We use ours multiple times in a week and it's no big deal! Charging it in the sun has not been a problem, either. It DOES recommend using warm or hot water for your washing... I always use warm so maybe that's the deal?The main reason I bought these is because I am particularly sensitive to scents. I typically purchase unscented detergent and that works fine. But sometimes I get hand-me down clothing, bedding, etc. that have the scents of other people's perfume or detergents still in them. With my regular unscented detergent, it usually takes 5-6 washes before the lingering aromatics are gone. With these things, it only takes 1 wash and all the smells are gone!Recently my brother (who is always going to the gym to work out - and sweats up a STORM) switched to using these washer balls also. They must be working for him, because I haven't heard him give a single complaint.

Like many reviewers, I was skeptical, but still willing to try. We have a septic system and I worry about all the product that might be gunking it up. The biggest test was our bath towels. For some reason they just stink. The first time I washed them with Wash Wizard it felt strange with no suds in the washer! But the towels came out smelling better than usual. Not perfect, but better. The second time they smelled fresh! My theory: by not adding detergent, this is also helping to release old detergent residue that might be holding on to old smells. Not sure, but a theory. It also works on those 'sour' smells that get into t-shirts and other clothing. I have added some Oxi-Clean to the white loads because I'm not sure it's getting them as bright as I'm used to. But for me, this is a winner. It still feels weird to wash without suds, but I'm a believer!

This item allows you to reduce the use of liquid or powdered detergent. However it doesn’t really keep the whites bright, they are clean but dull and dingy.

I’m pretty happy with this thing so far. Surprisingly so, actually. I saw it in my FB feed a while back and was pretty sure it was a sham until one of my friends posted about it too. So I got it, thinking it should be fine for most of my stuff because my personal laundry really doesn’t get that dirty. Figured I’d keep the traditional detergent around for the kids stuff and the blankets and pillows that our beautiful and wonderful little dachshund boy occasionally likes to..... leave his scent on.Anyway, so he peed on one of our couch pillows again. And instead of going straight for the detergent, I figured, what the hey. Give these things a try. Worst thing that could happen is I have to wash the pillows twice. So I ran them through, washed and dried and everything. I couldn’t smell his pee when they were done. The darn things worked.And another thing, with these being unscented, I was worried about what out laundry would smell like. Even if it got them clean, our water smells like dirt. Just straight out of the faucet, literally, our hot water smells like soil from the garden. It’s gross, I know. So I thought, if these are unscented, the darn clothes are going to smell like our water. NOPE. They smell fresh. The smell like a cool, unscented breeze on a warm day.

I thought this might be a great way to save on laundry detergent since we have a family of 5 constantly washing clothes. This was a mistake to buy. I followed directions to the letter and washed a load of laundry using this ball. My clothes were not clean and had a wierd smell to them. To me this was just a rip off.

I cam looking for detergent and saw this. It had some great reviews, so i decided to try it out. Having had reactions from detergent in the past, i was hoping it worked. Put it to the tough test right away, with some horribly smelly gym clothes. Mind Blown. i don't know how it did it, but it cleaned it and fully passed the smell test. There is no scent added, so you don't get a fresh laundry scent unless you want to add something. But it removes any dirty scent and my clothes are clean. i was worried about the bumps catching on more delicate fabrics so i haven't tried that, but great buy for your regulars!
