I used the charger when I first got it to charge the new battery that I ordered with it and I just plug it in to top off my batteries so I could use my saw and guit after the first battery. Not worth the money.

Perfect replacement.
The original Makita battery charger worked well for many many years...but eventually died an ugly death from having to constantly recharge the original batteries as they increasingly throughout the years failed to remain charged and grew weaker and weaker until they were useless. This newer version of recharger is more efficient (quicker) than the original and well suited for the replacement batteries I purchased along with this recharger.
