Bianchi 3S Pistol Pocket Holster - Ruger Sp101 (Tan)

I don't have my CHL yet, so I don't carry daily at this point, I can't give you that perspective right now. But, I love this holster so far. I'm seeing a high quality item, and it fits my S&W J-frame (with full exposed hammer) perfectly. I really like the quick release thumb snap. The leather strap fully covers the spur of the hammer (so there is no sharp point left protruding); the gun comes out pretty quickly when desired; and I'm confident that it will stay in place until I choose to take it out. The two-snap-on belt holder loop is probably not as fast to take on/off as a metal clip model, but it's still fairly easy to get on/off my belt after a little practice. And, you don't have to take your belt off and feed it through the slot like a hunting-style or pancake-style holster. I believe this type of belt mount is quick, yet secure, and for my needs this is exactly what I wanted. The adjustable swivel (for holster angle) is a nice feature, but I haven't needed to change the angle yet myself. I'm not law enforcement, so I'm not facing potentially life-threatening situations daily. I was shopping for a holster that is high quality, comfortable, easy to use, and reliable. I want my piece to stay secure, and be there when/if I ever need it. I'm very happy that I discovered (and ordered) this holster online.....my local retailers don't carry it.

This is the second Bianchi holster I've purchased and the quality and fit for my revolver is top notch. Yes, it is quite a tight fit at first, you do have to snap the thumb break closed on the pistol and leave it for awhile. But once done, it works great. Be patient and work with it a bit, it will snap closed. Then after a couple of days it will be stretched out fine, but work with it a bit more and it becomes even better.The finish on the leather is high quality as well, you can tell by the finished edges that this went through a top quality process. This is an excellent holster for the money with some minor drawbacks. Firstly, this doesn't cost very much and you get a custom maker quality holster. It just screams quality. It is a little tight at first, especially around the snap strap, but any leather holster you get will be this way, and just any other, it broke in with a few days of use. The snap, however, is one such drawback that I mentioned prior. The strap itself is pretty short, and would be a lot easier to use if It had just a little bit more length to it, but at the same time you would lose a slight amount of security, that really wouldn't make that much of a difference. Anyway, this holster also has a reinforce mouth, which allows for re-holstering much easier. It does exactly that. I would have preferred if it was a little thicker reinforcement to lessen the amount of wiggle needed to get the gun seated properly, but it is fine as is. The muzzle is open on this holster, which for me is a drawback, as it allows foreign matter to get into your barrel, as well as allow the crown and muzzle to get scratched. I don't much care about scratches myself, nor am I all that concerned that something outside of lint will get into my barrel, but your mileage may vary. And this has an excellent belt strap that allows you to adjust the cant to any position you prefer. I use mine on my strong side hip with a slight amount of cant. It holds the position you put it in well enough, but it can be moved. This is a simple fix of just adjusting it.Overall, this a quality IWB holster that is of custom maker quality for half the price. It has many usable features, but you need to decide for yourself if these features are what you want. If you're not picky and just want a quality holster to pack your gun around in, this will do that perfectly.

THought this would be a pretty good holster, but the positioning of the leather strap holds the pistol to high. I got mine for a Colt Detective Special and although it worked, it held it too high for comfort and would occasionally spill out from inside my waistband and flop over, hanging by the leather strap. This matched with the leather strap very noticeably printing made it a no go.Maybe it would work with a longer barrel, like a duty size gin (4-5'' pistol or revolver), and with a jacket on, but for every-day carry it just wasn't going to work for me.All of my qualms with it are from a design standpoint, as the build quality was quite nice and up to par with every other Bianchi product. I've seen this design in movies and in older gun rags before, and it makes sense when there were not too many IWB holster, but even then for a snub I think you're better off with a cheap IWB felt/rawhide holster.

Bianchi makes a really nice holster. Materials are top-notch and fit & finish are excellent.However, the security strap is not long enough to go over the hammer of my SP101. I suspect it was designed for the hammerless model.

The shipping was delayed twice, which sucked because one of the reasons I ordered it was because of the prime 2 day shipping. That being said, don't confuse it with the current seller, I bought mine from Amazon and that's their fault.It looks great. Feels to be of great quality compared to other holsters. The thumb-strap doesn't snap right out of the box it needs some breaking in. Im a slimmer guy at 5-8 155, and it is very comfortable to wear around. It shows a little bit through my shirt but I need to buy some bigger shirts anyway.FWI, feels great sitting down and bending over as well.

I wanted to like this holster. I love the thumb break and adjustable cant on the belt loop. It just sits too high. Most of the weight and mass of the SP101 sit above the belt line with this holster, causing the holster to flip out of the waistband easily. The belt retention system needs to allow for deeper carry.

Great product that exceeded expectations. Fit like a glove and stitching was first rate. My only complaint was the leather was no longer thick as several older holster’s from this company.
