Great little set
Nice set of mini motors made all kinds of mad cars, and soldered them to mini solar panels and just let the kids imagination run wild, very pleased

Absolutely brilliant BUT!
It's common sense really but we popped these back in the box after playing with them and forgot to take batteries out, the wires crossed and melted!Luckily my then 8 year old caught a wife of the smoke and sorted it.Just be careful!

Reasonable starter kit but could be better
I brought this kit to help introduce basic electronics to my 6 year old daughter, and we have had some fun with this making a fan and a small car (and have a few more ideas planned). However if you have no knowledge of electronics at all then you might struggle to get anything working. What would have been great is a small leaflet with some example ideas complete with instructions to help get people started, but sadly it does not.Secondly the Battery holders are very poor quality and do not hold the batteries in well at all, often falling out. So we had to use some tape to keep them from popping out.

Excellent value for money
There are 6 motors with battery holders and a host of gears which is excellent value for money. Because you do not get a heavy torque the plastic gears are reasonable for small projects. There are enough gears in reasonable ratios but it would be nice if the wheels had the number of cogs written on them.

Battery pack too flimsy
I bought this to make a DIY vacuum cleaner with my 7 yr old. Most of the components are fine - the switches, fan blades, motors and wires are all ok. Motor gets hot easily. The battery packs are flimsy, small and slightly warped, so the positive side of the battery eases up off the contact all the time. I'll try taping it together, but if that doesn't work I'll be buying a new (solid) one from somewhere else.Update- I actually cut the contact springs down a bit (negative connection) so the batteries fit in much better. Working so far.

Brilliant....
Really good value for money. And as a teaching aid for my 10 and 5 year old grandsons invaluable!
