IT IS NOT PLASTIC, it's not a reliable replacement for glass.
UPDATE, yeah, it turns out it *was* glass, after all, with some kind of convincing matte finish that was really nice. I didn't want glass because a cell phone's exterior should not be made of glass. Unfortunately, like the last 3x I bought, it shattered even beneath a beefy "tough armor" case. I had no idea until many months later because I never take my case off. Bummer.I want to drop stars so bad, but it's a really nice product and it does say glass _now_. When I initially got it, I searched to the ends of the internet to find one that wasn't glass, and ended up getting this one in the hopes that it was plastic, as the matte in the pic seems to be. It flexed a bit without breaking and really fooled me, too.My search continues since I am gifting it to my 11 year old and now have an even stronger imperative to find NON-GLASS. Hey, UBreakIFixit, why have you not made us a plastic rear panel yet? There's a market for it. These engineers are crazy for making cell phones' housings out of glass...we all know how phones can get beat up...I'm probably going to have to commission one from a resin 3D Printer. If you keep breaking glass, do not get this because it will just be more money flushed down the commode. You'd fix your phone more reliably by layering gorilla tape or something, rather than replacing it with this product.ORIGINAL:I *tried* searching for metal, plastic or literally anything other than the fickle OEM glass covers. I almost resorted to 3D printing one or something, but came across some review on this item where someone complained about this being plastic. For me, that's literally a 5-star pro and not at all a con. Though it says it's replacement glass, it is indeed plastic and not glass! This is way better than glass, imo!Granted, it's the most expensive piece of thin plastic I've ever paid for, $18 still isn't too bad. The adhesive isn't the thickest, but I cleaned the back of my phone with alcohol, peeled the transparent covers and stuck it to my phone. It pretty easily lined up and sat into place like it is meant to.Once seated, I carefully hit mine with a heat gun on the low setting and was sure to get the back hot while the rest of the phone was room temp (not even warm). I feel pretty sure I cured the adhesive/glue so that it will stick for the remaining life of my aging 6T. I'd recommend others to use a blow-dryer if they don't have a heat gun. Just sticking the adhesive might work but I wouldn't risk it. Or maybe stick your phone out in the sun on a hot summer day, but be sure it doesn't overheat whatever you do.I'm hoping this plastic will last longer than the OEM glass, which for me never lasted more than a week without shattering. 🤞 The only thing that would be better would be kevlar or carbon nanotubes or something. But plastic should suffice.

Patience and online videos. A great replacement cover.
First of all, as mentioned in the description, no instructions are included. However, I just googled OnePlus 6T Back Cover Replacement and watched a few videosI got a little nervous heating up my $550 smartphone to loosen the glue that held the broken back to the chassis. Mine had dropped twice, once on coarse gravel which left a fairly deep crushed spot near the camera which spread out over the back and crossed the other cracks from a previous corner crash.I used a hair dryer on high and tried and tried for maybe 30 minutes to get a corner to lift. I didn't want to overheat it so I was really over-cautious. Finally, I was able to get my thumbnail (the tools were too unweildy) to lift the cover slightly. After reheating and lifting and wedging and repeating, I was finally able to lift it off. Because it had a good backing plate, it didn't break in tiny shards, just a few pieces came loose. After carefully removing all glue remnants from the channel around the perimeter, I peeled the cover off the glue strip around the edge of the new cover and firmly pressed it in place. All was well and it feels like a new phone. Highly recommended.

Easy swap but more likely to shatter than OE
I've now purchased and installed this twice since I'm a bit accident prone with my phones. Install is very easy (follow the writeup on ifixit, it worked great!) and it looks OE. The only issue I had with it is that when the OE glass cracked, and mine was heavily spiderwebbed, it held together for 18 months before starting to shed enough pieces to make me look into replacing it, when this glass broke it shattered and large shards of glass were trying to fall off. My guess is that the OE glass has a film on both the front and back sides or much better adhesion to the glass. At the end of the day I would 100% recommend this product, just keep your phone in a case so that if it does break the pieces will be contained.

Great fit. Great quality.
The glass worked and fit great. Now if only I hadn't destroyed the plastic trim around the frame that this glass adheres to...it would be perfect. Please keep in mind that this replacement does not come with the plastic trim/frame that rests between the glass and the metal. Take extra care not to remove the plastic trim from the phone.

Great replacement.
Easy to install replacement, my back glass had been cracked for a long time, but was inside of a case so I didn't mind. Had to replace my charging port and battery so decided to pick one of these up as well.Obviously missing the IMEI, but overall quality is good for how cheap it is. The pre-applied adhesive is a life-saver, trying to piece together strips of adhesive for repairs is always a headache. The adhesive was in the right places and all you have to do is press into place and give it a few firm passes to work the adhesive in.Great purchase and the back of my phone is in pristine condition again. :)

Shattered within 2 weeks, even with a case on
I was really hopeful for this. Since I cracked the back of my phone, I knew that I wanted to do a clear back. Even though the back of my phone was already cracked, the included tools were a joke to try to get it off. I needed excessive heat (the phone was starting to hurt my hands), and felt like I was going to break the screen trying to pry the back off. Once I got the back off and cleaned however, this glass went on perfectly. Everything fit, and it pushed itself into place. I thought that, since I had a case on, then I wouldn't have to worry about it breaking again. Nope! I dropped my phone from probably 3 feet up onto a hardwood floor and the back cracked. I didn't notice right away, so I tried to wipe what I thought was a hair off the back and ended up cutting my finger. This is honestly a waste of money, and I would reccomend looking for a sturdier option than this.
