Very sturdy and easy to use. Make sure you use the enclosed guard and gloves. A couple of small niggles - there was a small plastic pin/peg loose in the box when it arrived. Turns out it was from the hinged portion - doesn't stay in at all. Doesn't affect the slicer at all usage wise. The part of the guard that moves as the item being sliced gets smaller sticks every so often.

I don't like the weird and wonderful gadget which is supposed to hold the veg - all I managed to do was keep sticking it in myself, so that got the elbow. The mandolin itself is lovely, easy to use and to wash and exactly what I needed.

I feel like I may have just gotten a dud based on the other reviews, but this is quite honestly the most useless piece of kit I have ever used and could do a better job slicing vegetables with my tounge.The blade is not sharp for a start, and even when you do manage to move something along, it gets suctioned to the base as there are no sufficient recesses to prevent this.I have not been able to connect a single vegetable to the safety guard as of yet so am playing fast and loose with my fingers with every attempted use.There is a ridge at the edge of the base where the white frame meets the slidey area (what is it called?!) so you can only put vegetables through an inch or so before it gets stuck on the edge, so it's literally less efficient than cutting something with good old fashioned hand movements and a bottom of the cutlery drawer 'i don't remember buying this? Did it follow you into adulthood from your student says?' knife.I've given 3* for how easy it is to clean. Mainly due to the fact it's unusable therefore doesn't require any.All in all is say go for it - if you want something painful enough (emotionally, physically) to distract you from lockdown ennui. Otherwise maybe get yourself a different model (I picked up a handheld from good old Robbie Dyas and it's a dream).

We replaced a smaller hand held unit with this super model. I really like the way you can dial up the setting you want and just go. The blade is sharp and cuts precisely. Fantastic for salads and stew vegetables. Makes light work of preparation. The design is sturdy and just makes it so easy to use.We had a small issue with the first unit but the service from the company was excellent and the problem was solved immediately.I can well recommend the unit and the company.

I bought this to make coleslaw etc but it’s a bit hit and miss if vegetable stays on prongs. Adequate for my needs but wonder if there’s a better one?

A great product, I bought it to replace a plastic mandolin which had become dangerously blunt, this new one is extremely sharp, very easy to use and with the adjustable setting very versatile, it made short work of slicing potatoes for dauphinois and was excellent for slicing a whole cucumber for a Greek salad, it is very easy to clean and has good safety features but you obviously still need to be very careful as the blade is very sharp, all round though I'm very happy with the product and would not hesitate to recommend it.
