The reason Alan Moore picked Delano!
Another awesome addition to Jamie Delano's Constantine. Insightful and satirical in a islamaphobic present day world. Delano's writing is like prose that has matured in a whiskey barrel and bordered by tendrils of blue-gray smoke. An aging Constantine is forced to go to the middle east to assist in exorcising an ancient evil. Definitive reading for Hellblazer fans and an excellent read for those who want a mature supernatural read or to be introduced to the character John Constantine.

Slow and over dialogued
I came to this novel with a lot of great expectations as I have liked John Constantine and enjoyed Delano's run on the series. I haven't read the Hellblazer comic book recently but have read various stand alone Graphic Novels. They have tended to disappoint me. The problem seems to be that Constantine seems to ramble on and what he says in not real interesting. My sense is that the earlier comic book stories being in 20 or so page installments forced the story to be leaner and move forward at a better pace - the graphic novel format allows for less pacing and it drags. this one goes into the sale or trade as opposed to keeper file(Review 2 in my attempt to review every graphic novel I read this year!)
