i've had nothing but great experiences with the service dept. this machine works very well. it has no problem with branches up to the size advertised, even hard woods & thick southern vines. where i had a problem was with the hopper. simply put, the hopper broke and as a result, things got lodged in my chipper and the motor burned out. regardless, i contacted the manufacturer within the return/exchange window and they responded immediately. not only have they shipped me new parts right away, they have improved the product. the hopper design feeds better and is more robust. everything came via UPS almost next day. they want to help. this is a fantastic little machine. i cannot recommend the machine or the service highly enough. i was up and running again in the less than 7 days! one thing to watch for is the feed. all branches are drawn to one side, the right side if you're facing the handle. be sure the pusher is on the far (discharge, away from the handle) side of the hopper wall so you're protecting it. as well, branches that have knots or bends can bounce around inside once they get to a certain length. just turn it off and pull them out if they don't feed. i usually open up the hopper every time the bag is full to clear it out and check for strips that wrap around the shaft. the blades are reversible and are easy to clean and keep sharp.

I was skeptical of the product after reading the reviews but after using it, I was pleased with the results. I'm using a 15A cord like it recommended and it powered through maybe 1.2" and smaller branches very quickly about broom handle length and thickness in about 20 seconds. Really small branches don't seem to go through there the best but still get chucked up. I also mulched branches with leafs still on and it worked with no problem. I thought the included mulch bag was an added bonus as it hooks onto the unit. Top feed guard lost a screw that presumably fell through the unit while running so watch for that. I have only used the unit twice for moderate sized debris piles and after each use I took the cover off to check for clogs and the condition of the blades. The cover is easy to pop off and dust out any caught twigs or leaf matter. The blades were dinged up fairly good after two uses so maybe order some extra blades but they still seem to multxh well considering. The unit is very loud, like circular saw plus shop vac loud so I recommend ear plugs. We'll see how long the unit holds up but I am happy with it for what it is as it really mulches up well.

This product works great! It took a giant pile of branches, sticks and leaves and reduced it down to a small pile of wood mulch. I bought the Gardzen Reuseable Heavy Duty Gardening Bags and the Wood Chipper Shredder Mulcher Replacement Dual Edge Blade/Knives Set (QTY: 2) at the same time. The pile of sticks branches and leaves that used to take up a quarter of my back patio now fills up less than 1/3 of the bag. Insanely satisfying to use. I would strongly recommend wearing goggles and a dust mask while in use since this machine kicks up alot of dust. Pretty simple assembly instructions & very easy to use. Just make sure you follow the manufacturers limit on branch diameter since anything wider than 1.57 in. will not fit. So far it works like a charm and I have no complaints.

This is not a chipper shredder but more of a mulching machine. I would not put a branch in the hopper larger than a thumb in diameter (a small thumb at that). It will do well for my needs but if you have a tree move past this and find a better product. Twigs, bush branches and stalks of plants will mulch ok. Update - Today I actually used it on a small project in my yard. This is the first real time using it. The chipper was fed at a slow rate less than 1" dia. twigs and branches one at a time. The machine jammed 3 times per bag. On the start of my 2nd bag the machine jammed on a small branch 3/4" dia. I unplugged the machine cleared the jam, I was getting good at clearing jams. Hit the reset and nothing. Opened it up and found the Blade Block Plate had spilt and part of the blade was stuck / wedged in the plate. This could have been a catastrophic failure. Added the pictures to show the small branch and the machines point of failure. Looking for something built better and will not look at buying this brand again.

I found this to be great value for the cost.

Compact machine which was easily portable on the wheels. Easy to assemble and straightforward to use.

For the price, this chipper is undervalued.
