I bought this to take it on a troop camping trip where we would not have power to charge our phones, etc. First, READ the directions. Nothing works as well as it should unless you follow the first charge directions. I tested it at home first and it worked well. (A word of warning: if you drain the charger while charging a device, it will start taking power back from device leaving them both dead, so watch the devices.) My "in camp" experience with it is that it works. It is not a super fast charger but it does the job. It is easy to use. To charge the solar device I simply left it in my truck where the sun could get to it through the day. To charge my phone I just plugged it in to the solar device as you would any battery bank. The flashlight part is ok, I personally like more light but I did not buy this device for the light so it is a non factor in my review. I have now drained the solar device again, on purpose, and I plan to take it hiking with me this weekend to see if it will charge well while clipped to a daypack. I will update after that experience.

I live in California and purchased the solar charger after recent power outages. Electricity was out for several days in many areas. I want to have the ability to charge my cell phone, if the situation happens again. The unit quickly charges my iphone...I was impressed. It also has two lights which provide bright illumination.The peace of mind of having a charged cell phone in a power outage, and not scrambling to find batteries for a flashlight make this charger a must!

Thought it was my imagination that it was not charging my phone after being in the sun all day (reading others reviews confirmed my thoughts on this item). I’ve tried all day sun, partial day sun, wall charge (didn’t I buy this for solar charging and not wall charging??). I bought this because my new job has me out doors all the time and thought it would be perfect. I have only been able to charge my phone twice. There are five blue dots (fully charged) and once the unit ONLY gets to FOUR dots, it won’t charge any more. What a disappointment and waste of money. I would like to buy another solar charger, but not even sure which one to get.

My old I phone 5 plus has found itself with some battery problems and was starting to lose .its' charge pretty quickly. Since I need my phone for work and can't be glued to an outlet all day, I really need an external battery pack and this one has worked perfectly. It can charge up my phone a couple times over through out the day with no problems at all. Price is not bad, High recommend it!

My husband loves it. He used it for hunting. After a full charge he connected it to his phone and charged it fully then he came back and I was able to charge my phone. We haven’t had it long enough to know how long the battery last but we used it all weekend long.

Trying to charge my phone with this and it kept shutting itself off. I do not recommend this product.

Great product at a good price. Use it for my wife’s iPhone when she is doing puzzles, she plugs her phone into the charger and the sunlight or ambient light is enough to keep her phone charged even if she is using it for hours.

This unit does not have anything that folds out. The first ne I got did not charge in the sun at all. The replacement charged instantly in the sun...but JUST ONCE. It won't do it again! Really aggravating because the reviews here don't seem to be telling the right story. I can't be the only one with this issue.
