Excellent Product, well shipped and packed . Had it in 2 days .
Recieved yesterday, was pleased with what I opened after all the bad reviews about these things , payed extra 15 bucks , 115 for it and took a chance . Glad did , parts are chromed and painted, came set up with fishing line and sample piece under foot . Was a little oily but wiped down easy no big mess like some talk about . Extra bobbins and parts . Works smooth, I bet sews like it should as already has proved it . Legs seem ok but we will see before go to trouble mounting on wood . Not got going be set up all the time anyway. so comes apart and will pack up . Packing was great , no busted up styrofoam or damaged box . Hand crank was crome also . Happy Customer.

Stay away. Waste of time. Junk.
Wow! Where to start. Now this is NOT a review of the seller as I ordered and received product as normal via Amazon. Also note the stitcher was still packaged in the original box from China with a new shipping label applied for my purchase. I assume the seller opened the package to insert the leaflet with request for 5 star reviews. Now to the machine itself - junk. Itโs metal is so poor the machine pieces were chipping away leaving razor sharp edges in the casting. The machine is covered in shipping oil which appears to be and smells of diesel fuel. The fit of pieces is so poor the machine could not move. The hearing inside the bobbin arm (straight tooth bar turns bobbin) was chipping away at casting. The flywheel crank was heavily damaged and the handle was bent into the crank. Even removing and fabricating my own didnโt help. It does come with a large spook of very cheap black thread, 3-4 bobbins, extra bobbin case, needles (unk #), very basic tools, and a piece of sample leather. I find it impossible to believe the leather sample was created with this machine as it would not function. I cannot speak to the ability of this machine as it did not function at all. Stay away. Please read many reviews before making purchase. While you may receive a serviceable unit according to most reviews (not just Amazon) it is rare.

Good for motivated DIY'ers. bad for everyone else
Based on the style and machining of this item, this kind of machine is definitely meant for the kind of person that is willing to spend a few hours figuring out and tinkering with an issue. If you're not that kind of person, this item, and honestly every item like it IS NOT FOR YOU. You would probably be better served saving up and spending a few hundred more bucks on a well-machined and professional level cobbler's sewing machine. Going in to this purchase, I had definitely done a little bit of research and so I went into it knowing to expect substandard machining and finishing on the machine itself. I definitely got that. MORE IMPORTANTLY, the machine itself works as intended. I've already tried it out a few times, including two pieces of 11 oz leather and this thing went right through them. Having previously only worked on dress fabrics, I am excited to now have the ability to reliably work with much heavier materials! Yes it took a few hours of tinkering, yes the machining is pretty bad (I've done some machining in the past). But the machine works once you figure it out, and it came with all the odds and ends it promised, inside of a VERY solid cardboard box. Despite the solid box, one piece of the metal DID punch through it, though no damage was done to the machine itself. The machine came well-oiled, WHICH IS EXACTLY HOW YOU WANT IT! All of these other comments complaining about too much oil are ridiculous, you WANT the metals to be oiled so that they don't rust as they're shipped from across the Pacific and then stored in warehouses for possibly years. Anyway, I'll edit this a bit to be more comprehensive and post pictures up at a later point in time

Ok
Made with Quality material. The stand is rather blah. Made a stand that made it much more sturdy. It does take a wile to tune up. Itโs an ok option for someone on a budget.

This thing is totally worth it if youโre willing to put in the work!
Iโve had this sewing machine for 2 1/2 years. This thing is so awesome for someone that doesnโt want to spend a fortune on an automatic sewing machine. The stand is useless, so you need to build a solid heavy table for it to mount to. Iโd also recommend a wood holder that is removable for the bottom arm of the machine. That prevents it from pivoting over time. You need it to be removable for when you sew shoes or bags so they can slip all the way up the arm. When you get your machine make sure to sand down all the rough edges and really buff the thing with a rag. Getting the tension and timing right at first is awful, but overtime I promise it gets easier. There are lots of amazing YouTube videos out there to help you. I broke bearings in mine by trying to force the needle into a project. So I had to take the entire thing apart and source out the right pieces. Now it works like a charm. It is incredibly picky and hard to deal with, but I wouldnโt trade it for anything given the price. It doesnโt sew a thick beautiful line like a tradition leather sewing machine. The thread you use is a bit thinner so you have to do two passes. It looks fine as long as youโre precise and match up the holes. Itโs a machine that you have to spend a lot of time with it. You have to learn everything about it and really become a master at it. If youโre willing to do that, then buy this machine!!

Read a ton of stuff on this machine, bought it instead of the cheaper versions because this one will sew up to 15mm, the others only 6mm. I gave it a wipe down to get the packing grease off of it and made sure the bobbin was in proper time (it wasn't) and it ran and runs like a charm. Love it!

This machine is an excellent deal. It was almost ready to go (there was a sample sewn by the machine clamped under the presser foot and it was stung and contained a full bobbin) and only required cleaning off the anti-rust oil, #600 wet/dry sanding of some edges and surfaces and some minor assembly. The only thing you may want to order is some actual leather needles because the ones included are general purpose needles. You do not need anything else. It includes what looks like a lifetime supply of black fairly heavy thread. Within a short time and a little fiddling I was able to sew all sorts of leather ranging from 2 layers of thin upholstery leather to a measured 1/4" thick of tooling leather. I think it will sew up to 3/8" tooling leather, maybe even thicker with proper needles. There are plenty of YouTube videos on how to set up and use this machine and a facebook group dedicated to these machines. You should wait and see what you need before ordering any extras. The parts kit for $35 would probably be useful because of the two extra bobbins and bobbin holders and the bobbin holder. I imagine that these machines were designed for people to be able to buy one and have a portable shoe repair stand in some market somewhere. I mounted mine on a board and clamp it onto a table to use it. You could easily make a small table for it that would provide a larger flat surface for your project.

This is a good machine overall that works for sewing thicker materials like vegtan leather and heavy canvas. However, it took a massive amount of tweaking to get it to work acceptably. Everything needs to be cleaned of the oil itโs shipped in. The spool holder had to be modified and the mount was badly threaded. The walking foot was very sharp and had to be sanded and polished. The platten is very rough and the chrome coating was flaking off so it will need to be fixed before serious use. The bobbin winder was not working and also required rebuilding. Even when fixed the bobbin winder did not work so I added electrical tape to the crank wheel and that fixed the problem.

get some 1000 grit sand paper and take care of any sharp edges and mount it on some boards. the stand is totally useless, don't now why they even have the parts in there. Nobody uses it. I added some parts to it to make it electric. had it year and sold it to commit to a brand name sewing machine for leatherwork. no regrets buying it. would have kept it but i only have the room for one sewing machine in my workspace. would reccomend seller. Lots of youtube videos and there is a facebook group also. Chinese Leather Shoe Patcher. Lot of info and support there

The machine arrived quickly and in good condition. Assembly is easy but the tripod would be useless and so are the instructions, but check out MAINLY ACRES youtube stuff for lots of good instruction. Expect to do some hand finishing with file and emery cloth, the manufacture is crude, as expected for the price. The machine is not for the mechanically feint of heart, but it works! I have already done a couple of small repairs and sewn a leather sole on a beloved old pair of boiled wool slippers whose bottom was almost walked through. I have given 5 stars for delivery and expectations met, not as an absolute 5 star machine. Buy some extra bobbins WITH bobbin shuttles so you can leave them threaded. Lots of samples of home-made stands online, I bolted mine to the end of a bit of 2x4 and cantilevered it from some convenient studs. There's a facebook page.
