Excellent book!
Highly recommend for anyone who teaches K- 6 because it offers so many suggests for reading, etc! Great book! It's quite expensive so maybe three teaches can put their money together at about $40. Ea. Unless you can get it cheaper somewhere else, but it's an excellent educational resource for reading!

Meaty useful text, but over priced
Using this textbook for a graduate class in a teacher preparation program. While the chapters are extremely long, there is a lot of directly applicable information. Additionally, they include some lesson plans using the strategies discussed, which is helpful for us novice teachers. I will say that the book is rather expensive— you’d think they (Pearson, who clearly has a monopoly in the education fix) could make textbooks more affordable for future teachers, it’s not like we’re expecting to become wealthy in this career choice!

Purchase this book
I had to order this book for one of my college level classes and it is fantastic. I 100% recommend purchasing this book. It provides lots of useful ideas and strategies for teachers of all content areas (included sped and ELL) - A LOT of this content is on the PRAXIS PLT also

Teacher Library Necessity!
This book should be kept in your teacher library if you are in the educational field. I am finding this book useful for studying the Praxis Teacher exam as well as how to successfully approach literacy in K-5 classrooms.

Online edition
Online edition is available on Pearson for $30. Would have gone for that if I had known.

Great book
Very informative, wished my class used it more than we did though.

Can’t use read aloud option with this book
The book is great but would be better if it was compatible with the text to speech option. I am a slow reader and this helps me retain what I read.
