Needs more material in the rear end
In some desperation, because I could not believe how many disposables we were adding to the landfill each week, I decided to try padded "real" underwear for my 93 year old husband who has very little bladder control now. One thing I like about this style, versus others without the long "boxer-brief" legs is that you can add a large disposable booster inside and it stays put. However, one negative is that he is more apt to develop a bad rash from having these on all night, with his inner thighs exposed to urine soaked fabric.Other than that, the major problem with these and with other brands I've tried as well, is that they all seem to be lacking in material in the rear end region. My husband is very underweight, so it's not his shape that is at fault here. They just all seem to be skimpy. A few more inches of material would do the trick so that the waistband would not be a couple of inches below his natural waistline.I find that these are pretty easy to throw in the washer and dryer. After quite a few washings, since I don't use bleach in any case, and you can't really do that with these, they are getting a little dingy looking, but they are otherwise holding up well. Originally, to save on water and electricity I was using my 15 minute "Quick Wash" option, but gradually, I was still detecting some lingering odor, so now, except in an emergency, I'm using the complete long cycle with the multiple rinses and they are coming out smelling fresh. I use a scoop of Powerizer and add a large scoop of baking soda to my front load washer, and then put plain white vinegar where liquid detergent and softener would normally be placed. I wash them together with the multiple pairs of pajama bottoms and sweat pants he uses each day, and don't notice any negative effects on other items like the pads I use on the bed and his seating areas, or any towels and cleaning cloths that need washing when I toss those in as well. Everything comes out fresh and clean smelling and I waste less water and electricity that way.Even with these drawbacks, I'm glad I switched from disposables, which I'll use only when we make overnight trips to visit our children. I was spending a lot of money on the disposables, and it was more difficult to control the smell even though we had special bags for them, but the main problem was that our large garbage can was literally filled with them each week. Not only was there no room for our regular household trash, but the thought of all those plastic bags filled with disposables sitting for years in the landfill, and all the methane they were undoubtedly creating, was just unsupportable. The extra water I'm using now doing wash during a drought isn't good either, but our house now certainly smells fresher!

OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE
I ordered these maximum absorbency briefs for my husband, hoping to reduce the number of disposables he was using. The pad is large and he found them uncomfortable. So, I took a chance and contacted the seller about their “first pair guarantee.” They were responsive, responded quickly to my inquiry, and processed a refund! We have ordered a different pair in regular absorbency and plan to increase protection with a disposable liner. Not ideal, but does make changes easier and provides protection.

An Honest Vendor, Follow Their Instructions
When these underwear arrived, the vendor specifically said, “try on first before opening other packages.” Good advice because there’s no way they can protect at night. The underwear pad to absorb pee has an unnecessary slot for easy access, but it also lets your penis sit pointed up and not in contact with the absorption pad. The pad to work at night has to reach higher up on your front a major design flaw in my opinion. I figure that these where designed for day wear and not for sleep. So, follow the vendor advice, try on first, only wear during the day.

Snug fit increases effectiveness...
I am an active 70 year old with ongoing stress incontinence (since my radical prostatectomy almost 20 years ago). The most effective combination of products for me is:1). wearing a one-size smaller "Men's White Maximum Absorbency Washable Reusable Incontinence H-Fly Boxer Briefs Medium that fits me VERY SNUG... I have to pull & wiggle & do a deep knee bend to get them in place and then2). use Depend Guards for Men Maximum for Larger Surges underneath the briefs...This combination of a snug brief with a well-placed pad keep my surges contained without leaking. I still have to self-monitor the need to change the pad as needed but have been able to participate fully in an active lifestyle.

Back fit
Good product except it is not long enough in the back. My husband was constantly pulling up the back. He has a very small rear end but there just wasn’t enough material to keep the waist band at the waist.
