Not the biggest fan of the mechanics introduced in this one but I enjoyed running through it and the addition with friends.

Excellent game, fun game-play, atmospheric, super illustrations. My 10-year old loves it. Easy to learn, and each game is a little different. Just wish there were more cards and bosses in the original game, and the expansion packs are expensive.

Well darn. I ordered the wrong product and didn’t realize until I got it. I thought this was the base game. This cannot be used without the base game. I cannot rate the gameplay on the product because I can’t play it . The art is very nice. There is only a few cards in this pack and a set of dice . It is literally a pack. I was disheartened when I saw that was it. It may be great if I had the base set to determine the play value of the pack. The seller shipped the product very nicely. It was bubbled wrapped! Thank you, as I am a board game collector. The product also came early. I had to order the base game from another seller, which sucks for shipping. Anyways, $20 price seems fair for and add on. Most adding are $20 for deck style games. Again, I don’t know the real value until I see what additional play it gives. I did see the adventure packs on sale on mini market for $12 - $15. By the time you add in shipping, your still paying prime price. My gut says to return this game, but I am dying to try the base game. This type of game and art style is right up my alley. Why can’t we get the base game on Amazon? Im giving three stars based on the seller providing great shipping service and the components of the game being really nice. I’ll give 5 stars if this pack actually hits the game play out of the park. Note: this game has an app that tracks your run stats. Can’t wait to play! Hopefully, the base game comes faster than I expect and in good condition.

a great game to play with the family. You have to work as a team to escape the castle - work out your strategy, monitor your health and use your items carefully to avoid dying before you escape. The manevolent creatures you meet along the way are illustrated on the chapter cards with a narrative to make it a story as well. There's an element of skill and an element of chance with dice to throw when you commence combat with the creatures. Our cool 15 year old prefers it to being away in her room and our 13 year old prefers it to his phone screen (I know)! We've enjoyed it so much that my son has already used his Christmas money to buy the next pack for more characters, chapters and increased game complexity. If you escape, everybody wins so there's no stomping off in a huff like there is with, say, ludo :) Highly recommend.

You must have the original excellent escape the dark castle Game for this expansion. It adds a great deal of more excitement and is definitely worth getting adding to what is already a great game.
