150 Silhouette Designs (Dover Electronic Clip Art) (CD-ROM and Book)

purchased from amazon. looking for a range of these silhouettes, i purchased: Ready-to-Use Old-Fashioned Silhouettes (Dover Clip-Art Series) and Old-Fashioned Silhouettes (Dover Electronic Clip Art) (CD-ROM and Book) . they have different covers and i assumed they contained different silhouettes. i was wrong. both books' inside pages were exactly the same. i also purchased: 150 Silhouette Designs (Dover Electronic Clip Art) (CD-ROM and Book) at the same time. both of the books' information says that the files on the cd roms come in many formats, including EPS. in my line of work, EPS means vector file, not just saving the jpg as an eps. however, there were NO vector files. these images were just scans of the images. i had to open one of the disk packages to actually find this out.i have called to return the whole order and explained this to the customer service person. i EMPHASIZED that i had opened one of the disk packages which might indicate that i copied it before returning (which i did not, since a bitmap saved as an EPS is not what i needed), and she said that was ok. these things might work for a scrapbooker but i am a graphic designer and need high resolution images that i can manipulate. I have yet to find out if i will actually receive a credit for this purchase.

With these clip art books you never know exactly what you're going to get until you open it up. I felt most of the drawings had little practical value of any kind and were therefore essentially worthless.

I wanted this book for patterns to do paper cuttings. There are a variety of images, most of them are Victorian but there are lots of nature, butterflies, nautical, and fairies. And the disk was a huge bonus to control the size. Very useful!

Perfect!

I had been looking for a source for silhouette art. This book filled the need and then some. I found I can also adapt for stencil usage as well.
