Finally found the perfect pants hanger!
I looked for a pants hanger that would not rust since I live on the coast and salt air destroys metal hangers in a matter of weeks. I also wanted to be able to hang my pants from the cuff, so it had to accommodate multiple widths and I prefer the speed of using a "clip style" hanger. This is the only hanger I found which does the job and I have replaced my old metal and wood and metal and plastic pants hangers with this hanger. The fact they do not rust, work as advertised and have a lifetime warranty, makes them perfect for my needs. They do require a bit of effort to to squeeze open, but I think that is the trade off in order to keep the pants held tight enough to not slip out of the hanger. Lighter weight pants are not an issue, but thicker weight fabrics like jeans require more effort to open wide enough to fit the pants. I did not think I would bother with the cascading/hanging feature, but it actually does save significant closet space and it is easy to remove any one of the three pair without removing any of the hangers from the closet rod. Also makes it easy to organize pants by color. I did have an issue with one hanger when the inside padding began to roll off. I emailed the company and they immediately shipped a new set.

The hangers are effective for most of my slacks, ...
The hangers are effective for most of my slacks, although my wool/polyester blend slacks tend to slide through if enough traction is placed on them, such as when I have to push the hangers about looking for a particular pair in my closet. I decided to keep the hangers because the hook on the side of the hanger allows another hanger to be placed closer to the first hanger, in a cascade effect, which is a space saver. I think that for some slacks with polyester that have no cuffs, the only hanger that securely holds the pants is the type that clamps together. At least that is my experience after trying several types.

Ordered and tried the best two I could find
I needed pant hangers and researched. I narrowed to this Royal Cloak product and the best wood pants-hanger I could find. Could not decide between the two so I ordered one 3pack of each. The plastic Royal Cloak product just holds the pants much better (the wood slips) and with no marks. The Royal Cloak product is not as wide, but that does not seem to make any difference. The Royal Cloak hanger neck is about an inch shorter which might help in a tight closet height. Also the Royal hangers can cascade on one another which saves space on the rack. Right now I have winter pants on the clothes rod and a pair of summer pants cascading off of each winter pant for easy access (these things are making me organized!). I also found these hangers easier to clip onto the pants vs the wood style. I will return the wood and order two more sets of the Royal cloak. I only wish that they were not quite so expensive!

The hook swivels freely so it seemed like it was rarely in the position I wanted
These didn't work for me. My 1st impression was the plastic feels rather chinsy. But more importantly, these are difficult to use. The hook swivels freely so it seemed like it was rarely in the position I wanted. Also, you have to squeeze them with one hand to open them. But they only open about an inch. This means while you're squeezing with one hand, you need to put both leg ends of a pair of pants into a rather small slot....can't be done in one go. So I found myself clipping the corner of the pant legs in, then repositioning my hands and squeezing the Hanger again and trying to slide the rest of the Pant Leg ends into the hanger. It was way to difficult when compared to a traditional pant Hanger. The traditional style hangers open up really wide and they stay open. Then you can put the entire pant leg ends in and clamp them shut when you're ready. And the Hook stays put for you. And the materials (steel and wood) feel substantial.I returned them to Amazon.

Not for the old or the impatient.
I so wanted to love these pant hangers, but I don't. First off they are not easy to squeeze apart. If someone has arthritic fingers, they would never be able to open the hanger to insert the pants, as there is quite an effort to squeeze them apart. Secondly, you would never get jeans with turned up cuffs inside the narrow opening, when the hanger is squeezed open. My thin slacks are hard to get in the opening because the white padding takes up so much room. After inserting my thin slacks, the hems have to pulled and prodded to line up correctly, because the opening is not very wide. What I do like, and the reason I gave these hangers 3 stars, is the hook to attach the second and third hanger on them thus making the more room in your closet. Great concept that, but I am not one of those people that separates my hangers evenly on the clothes rods just so. I am happy to just get my slacks hung up at all and this takes way too much time to do so. I could have three pair of slacks hung up on the wooden kind before I ever got the one pair hung on the Royal Cloak Pant Hangers. If you like to organize and take your time and make your closet look just so, maybe you will not mind the time and pulling and effort to get the pants straight over the white strip inside the hanger. I never tried my jeans on these hangers. If the slacks were tight and hard to maneuver, the jeans would be a nightmare. Maybe they will loosen up over time. I can only hope.

Lost their grip quick
I bought these to use to hang dry a pair of pants. The pants stayed for about three minutes before they slid out and onto the floor. Just not enough grip.

Very nice hangers sets for small spaces
These are great pant hangers that are "stackable" if one needs to carefully utilize space. I like that they can be labeled with the type or color of slack on the hanger. My husband is color blind and cannot differentiate between some colors, so I make labels for each hanger. Of course, he has to put them back on the right hanger then. I use these also for pants. My only issue is that I simply cannot open the hanger to put in the pants unless I take it out of the closet and hold down the spring section which my entire flat hand and then slip the pants in. Can get a bit frustrating, but I talked to the sellers and the woman was very nice and helpful. I hope they lessen the spring someday. Otherwise, excellent for small closet areas. I have tried other pants hangers and it is hard to slide pants into the holder or even get them out, these hangers are definitely the best for me.
