World's SoftestClassic Crew Socks - Ultra Soft Crew Socks for Women and Men

If you've been wearing the World's Softest Socks for a while you'll find that, although these are indeed soft they are not the original product. These are very thick and aren't as comfortable as the old style. It appears that whoever makes these socks either has no quality control, there are different versions that are packaged under one name and label, or every year or two they change the process. I've been wearing this brand for close to 20 years and noticed the difference in the past 3-4 years. They're just woven differently or they are using a different material. These last longer but who cares? I want the World's Softest Sock not the World's Longest Lasting Less Comfortable Socks.

The fit on these and the 1900 crew World's Softest sock is just weird. The material itself is thick and has almost no give. And it's not even particularly soft. The MD Diabetic socks I got r much more comfortable, soft,and stretchy,and stay up and don't shift around on your foot but aren't too snug, and you don't get a hernia trying to get them on. Above all, I am very annoyed that a sock that costs $12.49 a pair that I didn't even need to try on because it was so obviously thick and icky material and too narrow overall CAN"T BE RETURNED. I will be reading the return policy on items much more carefully from now on.

For a number of years I've worn "The World's softest Socks" in the ankle version and have found them to live up the their name. These socks, however, are not in the least comfortable. They don't have the traditional cloud logo woven on the bottom so perhaps this is someone who is borrowing the name, Whatever the case these are not at all soft and are pretty itchy to wear: and I can't think if a time when I've thought this about a sock. They also feel bulky and fit poorly around my foot. I've worn these twice and will be cutting my losses and tossing these in the trash bin. I realize they're just socks...but still, not even close to living up to their promise.

I have been wearing the World's Softest Socks for years, but recently when deciding to order some new ones, I noticed many dissatisfied comments on the quality of the socks now. Since I really needed more socks and did not know what other kind would be as comfortable, I ordered three pairs to try them out and see what I thought about them. First of all I wear a size 8.5 women's shoe and ordered the women's 9-11 size (medium) socks. When I tried them on they seemed to be the same thickness and softness I had purchased years before. The fit was good, but my toes met the end of the sock which is comfortable for me, but might be a bit small for a larger sized foot/shoe. I have washed the socks several times and they have retained their size, shape, and comfort level, and I am very pleased that the concern I had from some people's comments was not an issue with my purchase.

I used to purchase World Softest Socks from a local retailer, but they stopped carrying them. I've worn them for years and love to give them out as gifts. The little cloud at the bottom of the sock is an accurate representation. They're so soft, you really do feel like you're walking on a little cloud. Plus, they're extremely warm, which is great for New England long winters. Recently purchased these from Smile Amazon as a replacement for the local retailer no longer selling them. They're the real deal. If you buy these socks, you will machine wash and dry them hundreds of times, wear them for years and they will still be like the day you bought them. These socks are virtually indestructible. They're the only socks I've been wearing for years. Nothing else compares to these, especially in the winter.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND these socks! They are Too LONG (heel to toe), Too NARROW in the foot and SO TIGHT AROUND THE ANKLE/LOWER LEG that they cut off circulation. And I don't have short fat feet or bulgy ankles!I used to be able to get this size and they were perfect... BUT then they became unavailable.SO, I was happy to find them here.ALAS! Can't wear them because FIRST: they cut off circulation at the ankle and SECOND: the excess material in the toes fills up my shoes and causes problems there too.Perhaps someone with shoe size 14 AAA might find them perfect but not me.

If you're familiar with this brand you're probably aware of the problems the manufacturer had getting a new supplier of yarn when the old supplier went out of business. For years there were problems with fit, shrinkage, and wear. Well.... that's all history now. These socks are the worlds best and softest, just like the original socks were. The only minor criticism I have is they come up the calf a little too high. They could take about 2 inches off the height. The picture isn't really accurate... I suspect some of the sock is tucked down inside so it looks normal, but it's not.
