Great Price, Great Sound. Don't compare it against $1000 speakers. Update Win 10 drivers.
It's a great speaker!!! The sound is very neutral and well balanced but without a lot of personality. It has a little midrange dip which makes it sound not as engaging as a higher price speaker. Most people won't notice it. The base is deep but really well controlled. It's not boomy and tight. The base is more about hearing it vs feeling it. It's actually goes far lower than I would expect from it's size. My speakers are 2 1/2 inches away from the back wall. It's a little big for a desktop speaker but a welcome trade off for quality sound. You may need to update your DAC drivers in Windows 10 to use the USB port. When I first got it, it would randomly lose connectivity to the speaker about every 3 hours of listening. Really annoying. When I went to windows update, because it saw I connected a DAC to the usb port, it showed me an update under other updates. Updated it and the disconnect went away. Haven't seen the disconnect since. Bluetooth is great. I think the sound is better though my iphone than through Windows. The remote works fine. No issues with getting the remote to work or the distance I'm using it at, 10 feet. Best feature is the front LED can be turned off!!! You don't have to stare at a white or blue led. This was definitely built by someone who understands we want to hear the music, not see it. Not tested the analog inputs or the subwoofer outs. Highly Recommended.

Insanely good.
These powered speakers are a ridiculous value. I bought these to try out after I found the Sonos Beam great for TV but lacking for music listening. OMG, the Sonos were not horrible, but these speakers are SO much better for music (and as good for TV for 1/3 the price). Yes, there seems to be a bass bump at around 80HZ and no deep bass at all, kind of like the BBC LS3/5A, but everything, and I mean everything: AC/DC, Beethoven Symphony 3, Coltrane, Edith Piaf…sounds so good. Hyperbole? I’m usually a world-weary cynic and no fan boy of ANYTHING. But if you’re in the market for powered speakers, grab these ASAP!BTW, I also bought the S 808 subwoofer thinking I would need more bass than these little speakers can produce, but when the subwoofer failed to power on and I was forced to live with just the S801PWs, I found they had plenty of bass for my needs. I’m canceling the replacement sub.

Very nice pair of powered bookshelf/desktop speakers, better sound than expected
I was looking for a modestly priced pair of powered speakers, to use with a computer and Chromecast Audio with optical out. So I wanted optical input as a must-have, and USB input as a plus. This one came with both (and more), and was on sale at a very attractive price. I'm quite pleasantly surprised by the very good sound: it sounds clear and clean across the range with no serious distortion I can hear (at moderate volumes) anywhere along the range. When listening to classical music, especially string quartets and such, it does sound a bit "thin" at the higher end, but it's probably to be expected for this size and price point. As for amplification, I'm using it in a space of about 500 sqft in two open-space rooms, and don't feel the need for any more power than it has. I'm quite happy with this purchase, and can easily recommend it to anyone looking in this category and price range.Note: some people complained about the remote, but I've used it from 4-6ft, and mostly just to change the input, and have not experienced any problems at all.

Remote doesn't work. Don't buy this speaker.
Remote doesn't work. Signal reception seems to be a common problem. I read reviews and thought it was not a big problem, but it REALLY IS. Anoying and unsuable. Please dont buy these!!

Surprisingly excellent
I really wasn't expecting much when I bought these for my girlfriend but since I was adding a subwoofer to the system I figured as long as it sounded decent, she'd be good to go. But these turned out to be a real eye-opener even without the subwoofer. They sound very full and warm. Bass seems very accurate, if not super deep, but it's definitely there...and sounds nicely musical. Treble is slightly rolled off resulting in an overall warm, pleasant sound. And lastly you can crank these pretty loud. For what they were charging for these powered speakers, these are worth every penny.

Has decent sound for this price point, but has poor IR control
I bought this pair of Jamo S 801PM speakers to use with my TV. For this price range I though the sound quality was very good. I compared them to my KEF Egg powered speakers ($400) and when playing music I preferred the Jamo's.I also liked the small size of these speakers. Specially for TV use, they're small enough to lay on their side at the base of the TV.However where they failed was with the IR remote control. As other reviews have stated it is a very weak remote control. Even from 6 feet away it would often fail to work. Then to make matters worse there was a conflict with the IR commands between the Jamo and the TiVo. Pressing "page up" on the Tivo would cause the Jamo to turn off. That was a show-stopper for me and I had to return these speakers. These speakers are worthwhile if you won't be using the remote or are using them in a "desktop" setup where you will be very close to them. Otherwise, stay away.

These are great for the price.
I have a Klipsch Powered pair, which I really like. They cost more than double compared to these. Soundwise, functionality wise, looks wise, they are the same. Easy to set up. Really liking these so far.A month later, I am really liking these, easy to use, move around room to room, outside, etc. Sound quality is good. Easy to connect to. Easy to disconnect, have a friend connect, etc. So simple, no extra receiver, no extra bluetooth connector, etc. I am very happy I bought these. Great deal.

Audiophile grade. No coloring. Silky highs
Accuracy is a good description for these speakers. Being powered by their own amp, and having many connection options, even adds to their value. The real bargain is the precise and beautiful sound they reproduce for what they cost. They even have a subwoofer out- which I utilized with the Jamo 8 inch powered sub. Trust me- you will have an “eye” and ear opening experience with these.
