Is this machine washable?

Nearly all plush/stuffed animals say “surface washable only” on their tags, but this is most likely due to lawyers making sure the manufacturer is protected should the item get damaged by washing. I wash my kids stuffed animals anyway. I usually wash sturdier plush in the machine on the delicate cycle with other clothes to help balance the weight, but take more delicate ones into the shower & wash them with shampoo. I air dry them either outside if it’s warm out, or by putting them on an absorbent mat indoors. The water will collect on whichever side is down as it drains, so I turn them to different sides as they are drying. So, if you wash this particular squid in the machine, understand that there is always the possibility of the material being slightly more fuzzy afterwards due to the friction. I would probably suggest hand washing this one in the shower & air drying.
