I was quite pleased with what I was reading so I decided to ...
I'd known I needed some hearing amplification for quite some time and had checked into purchasing in hear hearing aids and several other options as well. Being over 65 and on Medicare I quickly found most, if not all the cost would be out of my pocket.....and it would significant. Also I read a lot of reviews of other people's experiences with expensive hearing aids and discovered there were a lot of unhappy users out there. When I discovered your type of device quite by chance in a flying magazine I was reading, I decided to check into this option more. I was quite pleased with what I was reading so I decided to give it a try. My device came on time as promised and was user friendly right out of the box. It has been great so far. (Have had it about 3 weeks now). I'm finally able to hear and participate in conservations while riding in the back seat of an auto. Hadn't been able to do that for quite a while. My unit is very small fits behind my ear and even when I tell people I'm wearing it they have trouble spotting it. The greatest reward so far however has been being able to hear my young grand daughters when they are trying to tell me something really important......at least to me. Would I recommend this item to someone else.....I already have.

Not for me, I returned it for a full refund.
So hard to review an item so personal. Easy to put on. The fit was great, hardly knew I had it on. Battery door (pocket) very flimsy ! If you weren't careful to close it, it could easily break off. Battery has to be removed to turn it off. What a pain. . Nice zipper carry case, Hard to adjust levels and tell the difference ( between beeps) The levels were not really explained well in the packet manual. I felt it did nothing for my hearing situation .

I thought I was a lost cause, but I can honestly say that I can now hear conversation with relative ease
A few years ago I went to an audiologist and got to try out a hearing aid that cost between $1500 and $2000. The plan, his plan, was to use 2 of them, and after he had 1 plugged into his laptop to upload data from my hearing test he put it into my left ear (the same ear I'm now using the LifeEar in). I then asked him if I could test it out for a few days. At first he didn't want to, but he did finally agree.I really wanted it to work and was very optimistic, but it just didn't seem to help at all. I found myself struggling just as much during conversations as I did without it. But even worse, and probably what was really wrong with it, is that its software algorithm seemed to be constantly searching for sounds that maybe I should be hearing and bringing them to the forefront, which made it very distracting. I was talking to someone, on day 3 of my trial period, that was standing right in front of me when all of a sudden the hearing aid decided that I should be hearing the TV that was down about 10 feet away behind me and I could no longer hear anything the person right in front of me was saying at all. That was the last straw and I took it back to the audiologist and just said I wasn't ready for something like this yet and I could tell by his reaction that he gets that a lot.But LifeEar hearing amplifier is amazing. I've had it for 2 weeks now and I don't think I've asked someone to repeat themselves once since. I thought I was a lost cause, but I can honestly say that I can now hear conversation with relative ease. And I can now hear sounds that I either haven't heard in a long time or maybe never heard before. I asked my wife why she didn't tell me that the refrigerator was so noisy and she said it was always like that, and I didn't know before now that the keyboard on my phone made clicking sounds when I text. I'm absolutely thrilled!

Costly, not function as hopped
It is not easy to tell if the device is on/off, hard to adjust volume, about half of the time not work right.

review on a excellent product
I purchased this little gem due to a dual ear infection. I needed amplification to aid me until my hearing restored to normal. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with hearing loss on the higher frequencies in my left ear, I purchased a $5000.00 2 channel digital hearing aid from a hearing center. While the hearing in that ear is not yet 100 % back, Using this little gem (that I don't even know I am wearing) is now better than ever. Super small, lite weight and still able to use the controls (since I have large fingers that don't always work well. While I believe Life ear say twelve-band digital sound processing, I don't know if that means 12 channels of separation, I just know it didn't cost $5000.00 and it works better.
