Seiko Sportura Kinetic SUN028 Black Dial Black Leather Band Men's Watch Review: Big, beautiful, old-school high-tech - The first thing you think, when you open the package, is: this thing is huge! Size-wise, I mean. The dial measures almost 2" across, including the knob, and it is about .5" thick. I like big watches. But that's not all - the technology inside is huge too. As far as I know Seiko is the only watch-maker offering "kinetic" technology - meaning your arm movements charge a battery, and that battery powers the watch. This is distinctly different from other "automatic" (self-winding while you move) mechanical watches I have owned. The battery here supplies constant, even, amounts of power - unlike a wound-up spring - which means the watch keeps very accurate time, just like other battery-powered watches. This model also has a 24-hour hand (the red one), which can be used to keep track of a second time zone. That feature, an important one to me, is hard to find in automatic watches, or extremely pricey. Review: Nice but disappointed in the Seiko lume. - Only drawback: poor lume.

Good Simple Watch
I was looking for a simple watch without multiple dials embedded within the face. This watch achieves that with the addition of not needing new batteries and a non scratch sapphire crystal face. Would probably have preferred a Brown/brown combination to the Black but it is fine as it is. Having a leather strap makes it a lot lighter - I typically go Titanium for this reason. My first Seiko in a long time and I think it lives up to my expectations (Not that I had been particularly avoiding Seiko). The lume isn't particularly bright but I don't use it in dark environments much.

Great alternative and $28,000 cheaper than rolex GMT. Would be even better if bezel rotated.
