Great cast and story

If you like Danny Glover this is a good example of what a good presence he was in movies. Based on a true story from the Vietnam War era...this is a Disney movie sure to entertain and give a whole different perspective on the Vietnam War. This is NOT a shoot 'em up movie. It's a movie shot with a heart-warming story and one for kids to possibly introduce them to an era we hear so many negative stories about. This is one told with heart about a village, a group of GIs , and a mission to help during the 60s. Sometimes we need movies like this to put things in perspective.

I did enjoy the humor, there is a great story line.

some parts hollyweird over the top dramatics , stupid . bit overall , fun flick . the kid and elephant are PHANTASTIC together !!! worth the time to be in AWE of their work .

A comedic take on events during the Vietnam War. Well cast and fun!

This is about several pig headed and big headed people who have to work together to get something done. Even one of the villains comes around. It seems like a strange story, and it is, but it does have an elephant orphan and a human orphan in it, and that's what matters.It also had a very strong theme about personal vs. professional vs. political requirements in life . . . in individual personality flaws, and in ways to handle situations NOT according to the book. There are other themes running through it, such as racial conflicts, and how to be the human in the way you handle them. Also how getting along with everyone is essential to survival.

I bought this for my son's 25th Bday. This was his favorite movie as a kid and watched it 100's of times. As a child he dreamt of becoming a soldier one day and at 18yrs old he did. He spent the next 5 yrs serving as a helicopter crew chief for HMH 463 out of KBay- the same Marine squadron that flew the helicopter to rescue the elephant in the movie- which is a true story. This movie is dear to his heart and now he gets to share it with his future kids. This is a great movie for all ages and it was shipped quickly

In good condition

Although it's an old movie, the quality was good. Price was a bit high, but worth getting a DVD with good quality picture & sound. As a collector of movies, it was worth it to me.

oldie but a good one

Missed seeing this movie after the VHS broke. Saw this here a ordered right away. Great entertaining movie.

I finally found this movie. And it’s still just as good when I saw it for the first time. And the all star cast was interesting to see them work.
