Great projector, impressive value
I have owned three projectors in my life. Viewsonic, Epson, and a mini 720p projector by 3M. I have used them for presentations in meetings, watching movies, and playing games. In short, given my experience, I highly recommend the JIMTAB M18.I did my research. I watched hours of YouTube reviews for about 20 of these budget Chinese projectors before I settled on this one. The thing that sold me on this model was the common denominator... everyone seemed to love this projector. They have good reasons to!Here's what I like:1) It is bright enough. When running a presentation in a lit environment with blinds open and lights on, text and graphics are still crisp and readable. With the lights off, the picture is phenomenal. I know there are cheaper native 1080p projectors on Amazon, but what suffers as a result? Would you sacrifice deep blacks for a higher LUX rating? Would you sacrifice color fidelity? I think the contrast and color representation on this model are wonderful. The blacks look black in a darkened room. The colors look natural and even.2) The fan is quiet enough. I am used to hearing a fan run while using projectors. I feel like many of the reviewers who complain about fan noise on these projectors have no experience to guide their opinions. This is not the loudest projector I have owned, nor is it the quietest. I have owned PC PSUs that were louder.3) The speaker is loud enough and the sound is good enough. You should not rely on any projector to deliver a high-fidelity audio experience, and this projector is no exception. For presentations, watching YouTube, etc., it will work fine. I recommend a separate audio solution for watching movies and listening to music. The speaker can be heard well over the fan.4) The picture quality is very good. Running various screen tests, I can confirm that I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of the picture. I did these tests with an 82" white projection screen in a darkened (but not totally dark) room. I noticed a little blurring at the edges of the screen and slight dimming of brightness at the extreme edges. I see these as common traits of all of the projectors I've used. I suppose you can buy projectors costing thousands more that do not have these issues, but I am happy to save that money for something else. When using the manual keystone control, I noticed some bowing of the image at the top and bottom, and more variation in the focus of the image, but overall, within the acceptable range for my use.5) The price is excellent. In a crowded market of budget projectors, it can be difficult to choose the "right" one. The fact that this one costs less than $250, but offers features generally found on name-brand projectors costing $300-400 more is impressive. In summary, if you are looking for a great projector in the crowded field of value projectors, you should seriously consider this one. Let's be real. You can't compare this to a $1000 projector, and nor should you. This is the right projector for business presentations in environments where lighting can be controlled. This is the right projector for a kid's room. This is the right projector for a backyard movie party. This is the right projector for watching TV, and movies, until you can afford to step up to a $1000 system.

Great value, solid bright 1080p projector without any frills
Well, I had a long review written and accidentally lost it by trying to drag an image to the image thing. Here goes again:You're getting a pretty bright projector for the money. It holds up in day time light so long as a draw a curtain. You can see that I can put two dimmed lamps next to it and it still looks great. Black levels loose a bit of contrast/grey as compared to a normal TV, but that's expected.Software is adequate, I don't think the audio settings do anything based on my testing with headphones. Internal speaker is surprisingly functional, and works on the go and gets the job done. Not something I'd want to use regularly though.Keystone adjustment only does tilt, so you need to make sure it's mounted squarely if you're doing that. Focus works without issue. Just be sure to measure properly when you go to mount a screen - image size is only going to be worth controlling by physical movement. You have the option to scale the image down in software, but it's not a good alternative.Mine arrived with fingerprints visible on the lens when you turned on the unit (can't see them on the screen). Trying to clean them with a microfiber cloth revealed that they're internal, either in the lens housing on the backside or on the image itself. I'm going to have to take the unit apart to clean it properly and am not sure if that'll still give me access to remove them. QA could use a bit of work here.Images here are from a 100" diagonal screen projected on a wall which works perfectly well, but will look better once I mount a screen.Overall, pleased with the purchase, annoyed with the fingerprints.

Party worthy
Picture quality is GORGEOUS and when the speakers overpower the projectors fan, the sound quality is also great.I always have guests because now I have the biggest screen, but the fan is louD and it gets hot in the room. With the volume up you can’t hear it anymore and we turn no the fan, but I’m for sure buying a sound bar and mounting it so that it’s not so close to me anymore. (Right now i have it sitting on my vanity close to my bed.)

M18 is a great budget projector
The M18 v1.0 is probably one of the best budget projectors on the market. Its picture quality is great (so much better than $100 budget projectors), its brightness is decent for most room lighting conditions, and its sound quality is good. The fans/motor noise is loud, but you tend to not notice it after a couple of weeks. Strategic projector placement and external speakers may help. Otherwise, I’m very happy with my purchase and would recommend any native 1080p projectors, and specifically M18, to any friends/family looking for a mostly enjoyable projector viewing experience.Breakdown incident - after unplugging it for the holidays (~6 days), we plugged it back in and suddenly it wouldn’t turn on. We troubleshooted with new power cord and using other outlets, but still no power (besides faint green light on power button). After communicating with customer service via email, they kindly agreed to send us a new replacement projector free of charge. We’ve had it for a week now, and things appear to be working great again. Long story short, when the projector works as expected, it’s great; when it doesn’t, JIMTAB support will help you troubleshoot and eventually take care of you properly, so it’s great then too.
