Excellent product!
I recently had surgery on my neck and had to cover my scar in the sun. With it being unbearably hot this summer, this was absolutely perfect! It definitely worked! Kept me cool while also covering my scar! Will definitely be keeping and using this for years to come!

THESE ARE GREAT!!
I ordered two blue headbands (I tie it around my head), but received 6 American flag print headbands, lol. I love them and think that they're great! So far they have gotten me through 3 heatwaves with no air conditioning! I don't see how you can wear these under any kind of hat though, bc they really poof up when they are fully soaked. I scoop some cooler water (from the ice melting) out in a cup and stuff one of these in to soak up that ice cold water, and there is a lot of relief from the summer heat! I would definitely buy again, and I would definitely recommend!

It's a great sweat catcher
I'm a gardener so, I sweat alot...lol. I bought these and some of those chilly pads to help with staying cool. The chilly pads rocked.... This product kept the sweat out of my eyes by not allowing it to drip down but, as far as cooling me off..... not really. It's hard until you wet it. So, I wrung it out and put it on.... It helped a bit but, quickly matched my body temp. However, I bought this to keep sweat from rolling down my face and it did it with flying colors. That's what I bought it to do and it did it. So, I give it four stars for doing its job for me. Durable fabric but, I do worry about the chilling fabric on the inside..... that stuff, light blue inner part, is thin and I worry it will go bad.

Not at all as it claims. Not cooling; suffocating. Would so love to return it; but it is "used" now ...so I'm stuck
I bought this believing (based on what I thought I read) that this would help me with my work outs at the YMCA. Got it yesterday; tried it today. Basically HATE it. The first few minutes it was great and cool, but I'd just started. By minute 10 of a 65 minute work out, this had become hot, ponderous and suffocating. I HAD to take it off; when I did, it was HOT (the temp of my head). In the end, I used it like a damp cloth; letting it cool and putting it on the back of my neck. I could have done that with a small towel and saved the money. If I had a re-do ... I would NOT buy this. I don't know how it can say it will keep someone cool for hours when it was miserable within just 10 minutes. Save your money, use a wet towel.

There are better choices -- such as the Chill-Its 6700
SUMMARY: Chill-Its 6700CT felt like a stiff wet towel and did not impress. I would pass unless you don't have the time or circumstances to prep a Chill-Its 6700 instead. Chill-Its 6700 provides stellar cooling but feels slimy to the fingertip, albeit not to your neck. Another reviewer suggested hydrating less for less slime but presumably less cooling too. Highly recommended, especially if you are going to be in such hot, sweaty circumstances that you are going to want to shower afterwards anyway. More comfortable than the standard tubular neck wrap too. Huachnet provides moderate cooling and is useful when you are just a little hot or if you have access to water so that you can rewet it. It is colder when wet; cool, clean and dry to the touch after 1 hour of hanging in my laundry room. It contains a good amount of polymer crystals. DETAILS: I already have 3 cooling neck wraps filled with crystals, bought many years ago. 2 of them are in a beautiful pattern and have a wooden bead that I can slide up and down to quickly tighten/loosen the wrap; I would have loved to buy more of these but I don't know where I bought them and cannot find them any longer. The 3rd one, without the bead, did not have as many crystals in it, doesn't plump up much, and runs out of cooling energy quite fast. I decided I should buy a replacement and, seeing as experience had already shown that not all neck wraps are created equal, decided I'd better try to find one with ample crystals. After reading many reviews, I decided to buy "Ergodyne Chill-Its 6700 Evaporative Polymer Cooling Bandana - Tie Closure" because a reviewer explicitly said it had more crystals than most; "Huachnet Cooling Sports Scarf Neck Wrap Headband Ice Scarf Reusable Ice Bandana wristband" because it was pretty; and "Ergodyne Chill-Its 6700CT Evaporative Cooling Bandana - Tie Closure" because I wondered if a different technology might work better. The Chill-Its 6700 and the Huachnet both contained polymer crystals and I put them in a bowl full of cool water for an hour (which is much longer than in the directions but I was busy and got distracted). After an hour, they were both very plump. At first, the Chill-Its seemed much plumper but I realized the gel had not spread out lengthwise; after I squished it out to fill the neck wrap evenly, the Chill-It ended up flatter and wider than the Huachnet. The dimensions of the gel section were Chill-It 16" x 1.75" x 0.5" and Huachnet 15" x 1.25" x 1". The Chill-Its gel was homogenous and the Huachnet gel felt like individual orbs, but I didn't notice any difference when I was actually wearing them later. I thoroughly wetted the Chill-Its 6700CT (15.5" x 2" x 0.25") and then hung all 3 neck wraps up in my laundry room. After 1 hour, I checked on the 3 neck wraps. The 6700 was extremely wet with a surface slime, the Huachnet was dry to the touch but still plump and cool, and the 6700CT felt like a wet towel. I checked every hour for about 6 hours and they stayed like that. Each time I touched the slimy 6700 with a fingertip, I was grossed out by the slime and had to wipe my finger on a paper towel. After 6 hours, I decided to put them on. I actually couldn't bring myself to put on the 6700 because I was grossed out by the slime so I started with the Huachnet. HUACHNET: Dry to the touch, it was easy to put on and provided a moderate cooling. The Huachnet is very similar to the neck wraps I already own. Experience tells me that on a hot day, this will become warm from the heat of your neck fairly quickly but you can take it off and let the heat of your neck dissipate and then it will provide coolness again. If you don't take it off, it becomes a warm annoying thing around your neck. It felt like a heavy tube around my neck which was pretty much what I expected. 6700CT: This felt like a wet towel when I touched it and it felt like a wet towel around my neck. Not impressive. I didn't think it would have a very long cooling effect. 6700: Finally, I wiped the 6700 with a paper towel to try to get some of the slime off (didn't help) and then gritted my teeth and put it on. It was ICY! And my neck didn't care about the sliminess at all. I kept it on for awhile and the 6700 cooled me down and remained cold the entire time. It was flatter than the Huachnet and I think that the increased surface area helped with the cooling effect and it definitely felt more comfortable (no tube effect) around my neck. When I took it off, my neck was slimy and I wiped off with a wet paper towel. Note that the reviewer who said that the 6700 had more crystals than average also warned of the slime and said the effect would be reduced by not overhydrating the crystals; if I soak it for a shorter amount of time, it seems likely that I won't have so much slime.

Great on the Golf Course to Stay Cool
Love these to help cool down on the course. The chamois type center holds significantly more water than a plain cloth. Obviously since these cool by evaporation, they work best in lower humidity and some air movement. I soak 2 in water and put in a ziplock bag with ice. WOW cold when I use on the back 9. Each lasts about an hour.

BRAIN SURGERY SURVIVOR APPROVED!
I adore this think. The inserted ice pack is flexible and despite being solid, does not hurt or feel uncomfortable on the neck (rare for me because I've had surgery on the back of my head/neck). Another feature that I enjoy is the two-sided fabric ice pouch: two differently textured fabrics offer different temperature sensations. For ex, if I was running around cleaning like a mad-woman and not pacing myself. I may suddenly be overheated and can use the thinner-fabric side that's colder faster; if I am walking about on a slightly warm morning when I crave a warm cup of coffee, I can comfortably cool myself more slowly with the thicker fabric on the other side of the pack. It blocks the ice from getting through all at once when it's not needed. I have tried a great many, many, many cooling packs, wraps, bags, towels, and most are acceptable but this one is a for sure keeper. In addition to simply overheating, this also works on headaches, particularly when at the base odd the neck and the occipital lobe. I have also used this for forehead & eye area headaches and even mild nausea. Hope that helps.

Might work for some, didn't work for me...
I guess it depends on your circumstances, but for me regular cotton bandannas work better (and they are cheaper). I tried one of these at work in a building that doesn't have AC, so in the summer, it gets quite warm and humid. I was also constantly moving, but I had easy access to cool water (and a spray bottle that I kept cool water in to help keep me cool) When I tried this "bandanna" out, it warmed up too quickly to feel like it was worth the extra time and effort it took to start using it. With it being as thick as it is, there is no real air flow through it, contributing to the warm feeling. Then, it was hard trying to find a place to tie it where it would work effectively, and yet be comfortable. What worked best for me was those regular cotton bandannas. I would get one wet with cool water, and then tie it on my head (also helped to keep my long hair under control). Then as needed I would refresh it with more water (a spray bottle works great for that). If it was really hot, I could use another one, draping it over the back of my neck. (At the hottest, I would use the Ergodyne Chill-Its Evaporative Cooling Vest (#6665) that I had, but that had it's own issues - think what would happen if you soak a vest in water and put it on, but that's another review) It is always difficult to find good solutions to keep you cool in the midst of summer heat and humidity, especially when you have to work in it. I hope this review helps.

Great way to keep your cool...
I overheat easily thanks to neuropathy, so have to control my temperature which isn't always easy. I have tried the gel scarfs, which work well, but need a long soak or forethought. This is great to stick in your handbag, and just needs getting wet to instantly work. Wrapping it round your neck cools the jugular veins to keep your head cool, and works really well. When it gets warm, you just wave it a bit and the condensation speeds up again and its cool again, perfect. If you are going to get really hot, or exercise in the warm, then I suggest you get a cooling towel instead for more surface area, but just to keep cool while pootling about on a hot day this is perfect.

It works but its not an icepack
This works quite well but i think you have to have proper expectations going into it, its not like if you ever put an icepack on your neck and you get that real strong cooling. Its pretty cold when you refresh it with cold water and its quite refreshing but mostly its just always causing a slight cooling effect... however the moisture stays in it for a solid 4-8 hours, i prefer to refresh it every couple hours if im working outside, but it wont go dry for like 8 hours. The cooling effect is similar to if your sweating and then a gentle breeze comes along and the sweat cools you off abit... only sweat evaporates super quick while this stays consistent... works better if there is an actual breeze/air movement/fan but still works even in still air.

Cool accessory
Exactly as advertised. I whip it between my hands, in the sink, to activate (I don't have that much space to work with!) and I'm pretty sure this is one of the only reasons I haven't gotten heat exhaustion from how hot it is at work. The tie is very easy to make it subtle, it tucks nicely under the collar for my work shirt, and the dark blue it turns when wet blends in.
