A lens that shines everywhere
This is the best multi-use lens I have ever purchased. As long as it is in my bag, I know I can adapt to practically any photography situation and that my pictures will shine. Autofocus is sharp and fast, and the lens stabilization is fantastic. The lens adds a bit of front-end weight and feels a bit larger than expected, but when paired with a mirrorless camera it is negligible. The control rings are tight when you first open the box, but loosen up nicely until they are smooth but not too loose. They provide amazing control over focus and length, with a third ring that can be programmed to control just about any part of the camera (I have mind set to adjust the aperture). The lens is very good all the way stopped down to 2.8, but becomes incredibly sharp at 4.0-5.6. ISO and noise is handled well at even extreme settings of 8,000+ (and can easily be cleaned up with modern photo editing denoising). There is slight vignetting wide open and pulled all the way out, but that is also easily corrected with software. The large glass surface means filters run a premium with this lens, but it is an investment that will be well worth it. I expect to be pulling this lens out of my bag for the next 10 years.

Great lens
Despite the price this is the best lens I’ve ever owned. Sharp. Is fast and has great capabilities to shoot in different environments.

Great lens! Just be aware of how the stabilization works for video.
This is a great lens! The pictures are very sharp, focus is accurate and fast with this lens on the EOS R. With the firmware update, the eye detect is a dream to use. The only two big drawbacks are the price and the size. I shoot video so the size and weight are actually a benefit for me, and the price is high but it is a high quality lens. My only other complaint is how image stabilization works for video. The electronic stabilization in the body can cause the frame to move trying to track a person in frame even when the camera is still, causing a very odd, unnatural look to the footage (I am talking about with the normal stabilization, not the enhanced). For some reason, with digital stabilization off and just using lens IS, it still does the same thing. I usually only have this issue when shooting a close up of a person that is mostly filling the frame, but it is something to keep in mind. This should be an amazing feature for photographers because it will stabilize not just your camera but help even with a moving subject. For video I find I sadly need to turn off IS sometimes because I can get a better looking shot handheld without getting the weird camera movements that the IS can cause. I am a hybrid shooter so I love it for photos. The focus is smooth and silent for video which is great. The F2.8 aperture gives a good amount of light and at the 70mm end of your zoom you can get some nice bokeh too. Overall I definitely highly recommend the lens and the stabilization issue is probably a software related issue in how they've implemented it to get the 5 stops and is something they could address with a setting added in firmware in the future. As long as you are aware of it, is something you can probably work around.

My new Go-To lens
I wanted this Canon RF 24-70 f2.8 lens for a long time and finally bit the bullet when lens was discounted for 2023 Cyber Monday. While the cost of the lens was still a bit high ($1,999.00 USD), it was still less than the sale price on Canon's website at the time, which was $2,399.00. This lens is perfect for me for my landscape and portrait photography and I do not need to carry multiple lenses with me to photo shoots. I do have the Canon RF Macro 85mm f2.0 that I use for nature and portraits, but auto focus is slower than the auto focus feature on the 24-70. While this lens is not as fast as my RF Macro 85mm 2.0, at its widest aperture, 2.8, I noticed a fairly decent bokeh. Of course, I could have purchased the more expensive Canon RF 28-70 f2.0, but the cost of that lens was out of my budget. I like the Lock feature on this lens which prevents lens from opening when carrying camera. Also, I am glad that a lens hood is included with the lens; however, the large lens diameter (82 mm) makes it a bit expensive to purchase certain filters for shooting in black and white. BTW, a nice lens pouch is included with lens. I love that I can zoom from 24-70 and every focal length in between. Certainly, at 24mm focal length, I am able to capture group shots of individuals without stepping too far back as when I use my 50mm lens. Also, if need be, I can still shoot at the 50mm focal length for portraits or head shots. The downsize to this lens is that it is a bit weighty, much more than either my RF 50mm 1.8 or the aforementioned RF 85mm 2.0, but the RF 28-70mm f2.0 is heavier than the RF 24-70 lens, which does make a difference when out all day on photoshoots. All things considered, I really love this lens and, despite its weight, will be using this lens exclusively.

Nice sharp images
Big improvement on the kit lens. It's faster and sharper. On the down side, it's heavier and the zoom range is shorter.

Incredible Everyday Lens
I’ve been using this lens as my primary on the Canon R6 for over a year now, and I genuinely can’t imagine swapping it out. Whether I’m shooting dramatic Ozark mountain landscapes or casual portraits of friends and family, this lens just nails it. I’ve taken it on hikes, trips, and even quick neighborhood strolls, and the results consistently blow me away. Here’s what stands out after hundreds of real-world shots: Ultra-Sharp Landscapes The clarity across the frame is phenomenal. Even at 24mm, I’m pulling crisp detail from edge to edge. It handles dynamic lighting really well—sunrise glows and harsh mid-day light both come through clean without needing much correction in post. Fantastic for People Photography The f/2.8 aperture might seem modest, but the image stabilization and Canon’s AF system more than make up for it. I’ve shot countless portraits wide open, and the results have a lovely natural depth. The bokeh is smooth and unobtrusive—great for environmental portraits where you want that balance between subject and background. Lightweight and Travel-Ready This lens is deceptively light for the quality it delivers. It’s been my go-to for all-day carry when I don’t want to haul a full prime or heavier zoom. Balances perfectly on the R6 without feeling front-heavy. Rock-Solid Build It’s L-series and the construction feels premium. The zoom and focus rings have a nice resistance, and nothing wobbles or feels cheap. I’ve had it out in light rain, dusty trails, and cold mornings—never skipped a beat. Seamless Integration with Canon Mirrorless Autofocus is fast and quiet, perfect for both stills and video. Face tracking stays locked even when shooting movement. Also love how the image stabilization pairs with the R6’s IBIS, handheld shots at 1/10 sec are completely usable. Bottom line: It’s a L-glass workhorse that delivers pro-level results in a lightweight, budget-friendly package. For landscape shooters, travelers, and anyone wanting one lens that does a bit of everything really well, this is it. I’m thrilled with it, and it’s earned a permanent place in my kit.

Exemplary Optics with Room for Improvement - Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM Lens, 5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Embarking on the photographic journey with the Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM Lens has been an absolute joy. This lens has redefined my understanding of photographic quality and reliability. However, no product is perfect, and while I wholeheartedly give it a 5-star rating, I will also discuss some aspects that could be improved. 📷🌌 Superior Optics and Remarkable Versatility: The Canon RF 24-70mm lens is a dream come true for photographers seeking versatility and top-tier performance. Its focal length range makes it ideal for a plethora of photography styles, including landscapes, portraits, and street photography. The lens’s maximum F2.8 aperture provides the flexibility to shoot in low-light conditions while also achieving a shallow depth-of-field, giving beautiful bokeh effects. 🎯🚀 Precision Autofocus and Image Stabilization: The lens comes equipped with an Ultrasonic Motor (USM) for autofocus, which operates at lightning speed and with stunning accuracy. The in-built Image Stabilization system deserves applause for its ability to offer up to 5 stops of shake correction, an essential feature for handheld shooting. 💪🏽⛈️ Robust Build and Durability: This lens feels like a professional tool, thanks to its robust build quality. The weather-sealed construction assures reliability even in adverse conditions. It’s sturdy yet surprisingly lightweight, considering the broad range and speed it offers. 👀🌈 Exceptional Image Quality: The Canon RF 24-70mm lens delivers an impressive image quality, with fantastic sharpness, superb color reproduction, and contrast. Chromatic aberration, distortion, and flare are all well-controlled, contributing to an excellent overall image quality. 🔄🔝 Innovative Control Ring: The addition of the customizable control ring represents innovative design thinking. This feature can be programmed for multiple functions, including aperture, shutter speed, ISO, or exposure compensation, allowing photographers to make quick adjustments without having to navigate the camera menu. Now, let's address the areas where this lens could do better: 🖼️📏 Size and Bulk: Despite its many strengths, the Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM Lens is not without its shortcomings. Its most notable is its size. The lens, although offering superb image quality and performance, is quite large compared to its DSLR counterparts. This increased bulk can be cumbersome for those used to a more compact setup or those who are always on the go. 💼🏞️ No Lens Case Included: Another minor drawback is the absence of a dedicated lens case in the package. Given the significant investment this lens represents, the inclusion of a protective case would have been a welcome addition for safe storage and transport. 🔍🌑 Slight Vignetting: Additionally, some photographers might notice slight vignetting at wider apertures. While this is a common occurrence with many lenses, especially zooms, it's worth mentioning for those who prefer their images to be as clean as possible. In summary, the Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM lens deserves its 5-star rating 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. It offers versatility, superior image quality, and a robust build that is designed to last. The minor downsides do not significantly detract from the overall experience of using this lens. If you're looking for a lens that will serve you well across a range of photographic situations, the Canon RF 24-70mm should be on top of your list. It is an investment worth making for the incredible images it produces, despite the slight increase in size and the few areas it could improve. Here's to capturing life's moments with unmatched clarity and color! 📷🎉

Amazing Lens!
Super sharp, fast autofocus, and beautiful colors. Works great in low light and feels solid in hand. A bit heavy, but absolutely worth it for the quality!

WHAT AN AMAZING LENS!!!!
I saved up for this lens and was waiting for the day it will be in my hand! It's here. I love it!!! Quick and sharp. It's truly worth every dollar! This is my first purchase from this seller and the experience was good. It took a few days longer than I expected but I got it. They even reached out to ask about the shipping. It could why we pay a few dollars less for the lens. I will certainly buy other lenses/equipment. They are in Canada so this is a good thing too.

Used!
Used with scratches on lens covers, box is damaged and not properly packed as brand new, this is misleading and for that price I should get a new one
