Yakuza Remastered Collection (PS4)

After playing Yakuza 0 and Kiwami 1&2, I was keen to play more of these games. Yakuza 3 takes a bit of getting used to after coming off Kiwami 2, what with it being a remaster of a ten year old Ps3 game. The story is a bit far fetched, and it takes time to get going. All the orphanage stuff took a while to grow on me, but it did. The combat is really rough, enemies block a lot. The chase system is pretty horrible as well. The revelation system is a lot of fun too. Overall my least favourite so far, but not a bad game in itself.Yakuza 4 is an improvement. Three new protagonists in addition to Kiryu - Akiyama is my favourite of these, he's really fun to fight as with his martial arts style. Saejima is a big strong beast but is a bit slow, though I liked his story best because of Majima's role in it. Tanimura isn't particularly memorable though, and his final boss fight is infuriating. The combat in this one is better than 3, and the chase system is much improved.Yakuza 5 plays like an earlier version of Zero, and is massive in scale with five playable characters across five cities. Kiryu, Saejima and Akiyama return, though the latter is really underused. Haruka is now a playable character, and her idol story is actually a welcome change of pace. New guy Shinada isn't much to fight with, but is still a pretty fun character. There is a lot of side content in this game, so this one ends up as my favourite of the three. Each part of the story feels completely unique, but it's all connected in the end.

This is a fantastic package of yakuza games. Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 are bundled in this package and they all have 1080p resolution and 60fps speeds for flawless frame rates. Excellent buy for the trilogy. So if you have played Yakuza 0, kiwami 1 and kiwami 2 then this continues in the story of kiriyu kazuma, one of yakuza's important characters in the series. So also to add to note is they have added all of the original cut content back to this version of all 3 games. Like hostess clubs and other things. Yakuza 3 is personally my all time favorite but I do love yakuza 4 and 5 as you take control of multiple characters from the franchise all with excellent story plots and will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. People have called yakuza a Japan simulator as you can free roam Japan and explore the gritty streets of kamarocho. Though yakuza 5 is based in another town aswell and various other places. But all are very good games. I would also recommend Yakuza 6 and Yakuza like a dragon. Also amazon have really good prices on these games and good service and delivery 🚚 times to ☺.

Classic games, great package, nice to have a full set of cases for the Yakuza series!

I am writing this review after 5 months but here it goes: I pre-ordered and it arrived on the release day.Yakuza series is my all time favourite franchise. Still having a massive blast playing Y3, Y4 and Y5 remastered. I say the price is a bargain and it's too good to pass.

Sad these games did not get the Kiwami treatment since 3 definitely felt as though it needed it, seeing as it is probably the weakest in the franchise, but still glad I picked all three games up, great offer for three great games.

This is a fantastic boxset containing Yakuza 3,4 & 5 in their remastered glory.The boxset has two discs. Disc 1 has Yazuka 3 & 4 on it. Disc 2 has Yakuza 5 on it.Simply put, if you are a Yakuza fan, you need to get this boxset. If you haven't played Yakuza before, I would recommend playing Yakuza 0 first and then certainly think about ordering this boxset. You won't regret it.

Whilst these have been remade from the ground up they still have issues that plagued the originals with difficulty spikes at random moments.That's not to say that they aren't well made or enjoyable to play. As some of the improvements have improved the games as a whole. It's just I have reached a point and rather than keep going until I beat it, I have had to walk away and take a break from playing it for a while.
