better than expected

The rake arrived with cardboard around the bottom of it but nothing protecting the handle. The handle has been scraped in several different places and the yellow foam portion of it is very dirty. I think the rake itself looks like it’s in good shape but I’m very unhappy about the scratched and dirty handle.

Not much to say about a yard tool when leaving a review right? Well, I can say that is is a very effective tool for the yard and sand work we did for under an above ground pool, clearing and leveling a useless area to fill in with plants and rubber mulch and when we built a recessed patio. It was instrumental in all these projects and stood up to 3 weeks of work. Hubby and I could both use it without any "Ah! this is too heavy for me to use" issues. My only complaint has to do with the shipping company since it arrived bent heavily to the side. I just stood it up and bent it back into shape. Even after all that work it never came apart so I think thats a testimonial to how well it must be made.

Box arrived late and destroyed, but I don't think this was the fault of the seller. However, it did show that the rake is sturdy, as other than some marring of the handle the rake is completely fine.

Used it rake pea stone gravel and topsoil. Really like the lightweight.

Minor cosmetic damage, not a deal breaker and also not the fault of the shipper.Pros: Lightweight, synthetic handle, aluminum or light steel metal rake ending.Cons: Questionable durability, no way is this going to endure serious use.Some of the older tools similar to this in my parents garage are considerably better made (heavier construction, stronger metal).I would not expect this to survive anything other than casual use which is a good thing because thats all I need it for, but I had hoped for better than I got. If you got spare time on your hands and some tools, it would be relatively simple to make a similar item of higher quality/stronger metal in your garage with a welding kit and a bending jig..

Heavy duty with a solid hardwood handle. Great product.

This rake is reasonably sturdy. I am kind of hard on equipment. Even though I have yet to destroy this rake, I would like it to be a little heavier. That said, the lightness is a pro also as it is easy to use and light does not necessarily mean weak... I just like some heft in my tools.

I wanted three things in this product. 1. Not made in China. 2. Be of high quality. 3. Function as a rake. This did all three!
