A new standard for a desktop speaker build (with one small gripe)
In a small sealed enclosure, this speaker is a phoenomenal performer and has become a standard go-to. It's hard to beat in so many ways... aesthetcs, performance, price... the /only/ downside is that the outter rim is a bit thin for a #6 screw and the hole is too big for a #4... so screws look a bit oversized. Ideally, the rim would (1) be 1mm wider, and the hole would be 0.25mm smaller... even better, the rim would be solid/flat like it's "square-faced" sister speaker. With the turned edge design, the spcing has to be just right (and currently, it's a bit off).Note: I did /not/ receive a promotional discount for a positive review... (but if someone ever wanted to hit me up, you know where to find me)... ;)

Great little speakers
I bought these for my first speaker building project. I am by no means an audiophile, but I love music. I appreciate the ability to listen to music at elevated volumes with very little/ no distortion. My basis for a comparison is my JVC TH-C50 surround, which is a nice mediocre system. I put the HiVi B3N speakers in two .17 cubic foot ported enclosures built with .5 inch MDF. These speakers are on par with the JVC speakers and the cost of the JVC system was more than $300. Granted, if I had put these in a 2way or 3way system, I would've had better results. The speakers provide clear highs and mids while going into the lower frequencies with ease. Do not expect these to pound out bass, but without the suggested filter (Google 'Zaph Audio HiVi B3S'), I can't ask for more.Pros: Good frequency response throughout, small size, low power, great valueCons: Require a large ported enclosure for good bass response

Quality drivers and an excellent price.
I love these guys. I ordered two for a DIY Computer soundbar build. They good at first but they should really be used with an equalizer. I pushed the bass and 2k to 5k hertz ranges and it made the drivers sound much better. For my application they were great. Hivi even included foam rings for mounting the drivers to eliminate vibrations. Great drivers that I'd recommend to anyone.

great driver
installed in a 5x9 x7.5 deep sealed enclosure and the sound is crisp and clean, but too crisp in the higher range. I added a notch filter to tame down the shoutiness and it is much better. Can't push heavy bass tracks very loud when connected to lepai2020A+ amp or distortion occurs. But for lighter music it is wonderful!

Fits Klipsch 2.1 Promedia with little help
Bought these to replace some older, starting to wear out mids in the Klipsch 2.1 promedia speaker system. I knew going in that I would have to modify them a little bit to get them to fit, but after drilling the holes a little bigger and moving the crossover a little, they fit fine and sound even better! I'm looking to replace the tweeters next but haven't found one to fit yet. Very happy with this purchase and brought new life to my already awesome 2.1 setup!

great little speaker
Purchased to use with acoustimass 7 given as a gift.Had only one double cube to go with the base, so purchased two of the hivi, used with an "open-baffle" cabinet (simply a painted black particle board with hole cut into it) and tried it out.The sound is very good. I'm no audiophile, but this sounds nearly as good as the double cube bose when standing in front and trying to compare. The company and product were outstanding. Definitely would buy again. And if you have the desire, and a little time to research, likely could make a very good surround setup for a budget.Good luck.

Great price, good quality
Bought these drivers to make my own computer speakers. Currently they are directly connected to the amp without any filter and they already sound very decent. I'm looking forward to making a filter to get rid of the 8khz spike that the drivers produce. Obviously, these drivers won't produce a lot of bass and they would probably sound best in combination with a woofer or sub-woofer.

Cant complain for the price
All in all for the money, it seems to be a decent speaker so far. Definitely needs to be hooked up to an amplifier with an adjustable equalizer though to really bring out its sound capabilities. Also to make nkte, if youre wondering about the dimensions of this speaker, no offense to the other reviewer, could have been a typo. But this speaker is NOT 6.5 inches in diameter. It is exactly 3.5 inches in diameter (measuring the outer metal ring) and 2 and 5/16 inches high
