Very nice design and has a ton of potential, but flawed software/firmware
Despite the instructions being clearly translated from another language (Chinese), the product was well designed and very ergonomic. The product worked relatively well at first... but with one exception: The support arm coming from the base handle would settle at "CENTER" position with the bar IN THE FRONT instead of behind, facing the rear.To fix this, I thought I would try to "re-calibrate" the device. I had some difficulty with that process (more on that later) but was able to get through the calibration, via the phone app which comes with the product. However, following calibration, the device's motors would audibly vibrate and shake... which made me nervous to even keep it ON because I didn't want to burn out the motors. I tried AT LEAST 20 times to re-calibrate it (both online and offline versions of calibration), but to no avail.Only other mention for prospective buyers is that it doesn't seem to be large enough for some cell phones (my S10 appears to fit, but also can bump into the sides at times), however there is a version of the product which is designed for smart phones, so I'm going to try that one as my replacement.***FOR MANUFACTURER***As-to the calibration... the interface via the app was "ok" to follow, with pictures involved in each step... but a critical flaw with the calibration is the fact that it USES THE SENSORS to determine when the device is IN THE POSITION WHICH IS COMMANDED. That's a critical "no-no" with caibration, because it makes zero sense to use the SENSORS to calibrate the SENSORS. In other words, the sensors tell the device when it is in the right position (to then capture the sensor value..?). WHAT IF A SENSOR IS FLIPPED?!?! Then you can NEVER fix the orientation because each time you "calibrate" it, the system won't grab new "configuration" until it sees the axes in the range that it is expecting, but each time that happens, it refers to the sensors themselves to make that determination (in the correct orientation), so it's a self-destructive loop with NO ABILITY to actually correct itself. What they need far more is a BUTTON which you can press to say "Yes, I'm in the position which is being displayed on the phone app... use THESE values now".Other than these issues, great product..?!?

Great for various compatibilities
This 3-Axis Gimbal is ideal for anyone anyone who enjoys vlogging on a regular basis. It's a sold weight as to compensate for camera's and phones which are bigger than a action camera. My cellphone was wider than most phones so I did use my own adapter that is purposely for larger phones. I probably wouldn't recommend keeping your phone case on though just to be safe. Other than that it's ideal to have one gimbal that's fit various types of devices.

Big drawback for Sony cable users
I bought this item as I liked the Sony cable integration as it seemed more reliable than a wireless setup, although the payload was on the edge knowing I was going to use a Sony ZV1 & wide-angle lens combo. Turns out that while the cable works great for controlling the ZV 1, it does NOT CHARGE THE CAMERA! So if you plan on using the Hohem multi with a Sony camera for any other use than just taking pics shorter videos, don't bother! I was unable to get a clear answer from Hohem whether this was by design or if I had a faulty unit. Sure you can still charge via the regular USB port on the handle though but it restricts the movement and you would have to use wireless control of your camera as for all the other gimbals - the ZV 1 only has 1 micro usb port that is used for control and charging, so it is either cable control or power.

The product is great for my small Sony Rx100M7 where is gimbal is required
I like the product for ability and price. My only con is the weight which is not the fault of the gimbal since it's designed for cameras that range larger and heavier. I would prefer a gimbal designed for the smaller Sony camera pocket camera. But the Hohem gimbal is a winner on price and performance

Where have you been all my life?
Absolutely love it. Had to get another case for my Hero 7 Go Pro so it could rotate vertically without hitting the top of the gimbal. Minor inconvenience.Great for smartphones as well.

Disappointed 2x!
You get what you paid for. It's $100 cheaper than the Zhiyun Crane M2 Gimbal.Unboxed, and charged for 3 hours. Attached my Sony Rx100 V Camera on the gimbal and everything was working fine. After 20 minutes of using, the gimbal just vibrate and stop rotating or balancing the camera and then it just shut off for no reason. Darn gimbal almost broke my Sony Rx100 V lens when it shut off for no reason. This time I turned off my camera, soo the lens doesn't extend and get damaged if the gimbal shuts off again. Turn it back on, same situation, but this time after 2 minutes, the gimbal shuts off.Thinking it might be the battery, charged again for another 3 hours. Same scenario again and with the vibration and unable to move the gimbal. And, this is with nothing attached to gimbal.I have requested for a replacement, but Amazon wants me to pay it to ship it back. Thanks Amazon for taking more money out of my pocket.Updates 9.22.2019Again, same defect with the replacement. Straight out of the package, the gimbal is already vibrating non-stop after turning it on and will only later shut off after a minute. Charged it for 3 hours, same issues. Enough, pack it back up and send it back for refund. In conclusion, AVOID, especially after going thru 2 gimbals. Time to order the Zhiyun Crane M2.
