Terrific value for the $!
I received the set today and was pleasantly surprised. At $29.99 this is a really good value. The piece design is a nice rendition of German knight sets used in FIDE tournaments albeit with a little less volume on the pieces, less carving and a lighter wood. While the set is not heavily weighted it is fine for blitz or tournament play. I think single weighted is a more accrucate description maybe slightly heavier. Finish on the pieces was in perfect condition. I have bunches of solid heavy wood tournaments sets ie 3.75" but I am going on a non-chess vacation and wanted a lighter set to travel with. This is perfect goes nicely with a Wie super thin board. This is a nice entry level set so to speak and especially if you want to buy multiple sets for a club or school and want a wood set this is a great value.

Elegant set and good customer service!
This is a very nice chess set! It has an elegant look and feel! A great value for the money. I also got there 17 inchwooden board and they look great together. When I received the set, one of the black knights had a broken nose.It took a day to hear from them but they took of the problem and sent me a new one. I recommend both the setand the board!

You will get imperfections.
This my review about this set,First of all the pieces arn't even the color in the advertisement photos and as you can see in the pictures, there are things I wish weren’t there like the chipped nose on the Knight and the warped bishop. The extra queen has a huge line on the base and mark on the Cornett/crown. BOTH BLACK KNIGHTS DON’T EVEN HAVE PUPALS!! Some white pawns are imperfect but the black pawns are alright. A white rook has the wood marks on it and the base is not flat. If I were you I wouldn’t buy this and I would save my money for a better set.
