Paw Prints in the Stars: A Farewell and Journal for a Beloved Pet

I got this book a few months after my beloved dog Shania aka Buttercup passed away and this is a very touching book for anyone that has lost a beloved pet, whom many people like me and my Mom consider part of our family. We have a cat named Misty that was good friends with Shania/Buttercup (A tuxedo cat we adopted and our dog was part Jack Russel btw) and they got along just great, we could leave them alone in our apt. for hours on end when we had doctors appointments and sometimes they would chase/play with each other as well. Good times, good memories for us and this book is a short book but it is well written. beautiful illustrations and art, I dedicate this book to Shania/Buttercup and all of my animals/pets that have passed away, God Bless and peace be with all animals and grieving pet owners. Also, I dedicate this book to the memory of St. Francis as well, the patron St. of all animals and thanks go to our wonderful and caring Vets and staff at The Breman Animal Hospital in Tinley Park, IL.

I gave this book to someone once before and it was wonderful.Very,very comforting! I have now ordered and re-ordered it for someone very special who lost her pet. This order was very important to me to receive by 02/25. I first ordered it back in early Jan. and it was never shipped so I cancelled that order and re-ordered this on 02/20. It still says not shipped. Can you please get this shipped to me asap, this book is going to mean so much to the person I am giving it to. It is a wonderful book, I do not understand what is taking so long!!! It shows that it's in stock and I've received everything else I've ordered. Please send this. If this book wasn't so good and so comforting to somebody who's dog died I would simply cancel! Because it's so nice to give to a dog lover I am trying to be patient but I would suggest to people that if Amazon cannot get it sent within reasonable time frame look for it elsewhere because it is a very nice book to give if someone's pet has died. I will check my account in 1 day and if again this is still not shipped, I will cancel and order it elsewhere. Beautiful book!!!!

I have bought several of these and given them away to friends and family who have lost a pet. It's a wonderful book where you can add pictures of your pet and attach their tags. It's really a keepsake book and within the pages is a sweet story about losing a pet. I recently gave this to a dear friend who lost their beloved Bull Terrier and she cried when I gave it to her. I though it was something the whole family could put together and have happy thoughts of Herk instead of the loss of him. I keep a couple on hand just in case. So glad I do.

When I lost my little 17 yr 24 day old Maltese, a lady in my church sent me this book. It took a while for me to be able to read it, but when I finally did, I just sat there and cried. The idea behind this "gift" was that it should be passed on to another person who has recently lost their pet. I didn't want to give my book up so I bought another one for myself and it sits next to her cremains. This book is wonderfully written. Don't expect a dry eye when reading it.

Nice story but I was hoping there would be journal room for writing and more places for pet pictures. It is a great book though and a nice keepsake for memories of your departed pet.

The account is under my husband's name for Amazon. I ordered this book last night so I based this purchase from customer reviews... We are heartbroken since our 15 year old mini schnauzer, Phoebe passed away 2 1/2 weeks ago. I was extremely close with this little girl as I was her "Mom" since day 1. The grief I am feeling is overwhelming and I am hoping this book will help me come to terms with a loss I am finding unbearable with each passing day. I am ok when with other people or doing busy work (my house has never been so clean!), but as soon as I am alone, I break down. I feel a deep hole in my heart and I know I need to start healing, so I REALLY hope this book helps. People I know who have never been a pet owner don't seem to understand the depth of a relationship that pet parents develop, nor the deep grief when they are gone!! I will give an honest review when I have read and worked the book. I am hoping it helps.

I lost my beloved Lucky this past January. He was almost 11 years old. Since January, I have purchased so many different books on the loss of dogs, the grieving over dogs, etc., but had nothing really to memorialize him in writing. Until Paw Prints in the Stars. I started filling out the pages, including photos, the day I received my copy. Yes, I cried through the process; but it helped me so much to just remember his life with me, and how much we loved each other. To anyone who has lost a much loved pet, this book is a must to help you through the grieving process. I highly recommend it for children who have experienced, for the first time especially, the loss of a loved companion.

I first bought this book 3 years ago when I lost my Pit. I purchased another copy in Oct. of this year when I lost her sister and 2 more after that for friends of mine who were grieving. This book brought all the amazing memories I have of my girls to the front of my mind and those were so very much more powerful then the grief. I'm so very thankful that this book found its way into my life just at the right time. I'm in my 30's and would recommend it for anyone older or children, also. Splendid!

Loved the feeling of the book - great service

I ordered this book when I sadly and suddenly lost my dear little cat to kidney failure and cancer. I was absolutely heartbroken and was trying to make sense of it all. After searching on the Internet for answers and advice I came across this book. It's a lovely book and the words are beautiful - its really helping me work through my upset and grief at the loss of my wonderful little angel. I would definitely recommend this book if you have lost a pet as you can also customise it and make it unique to your pet.

I actually returned this item, it was not what I was hoping for. The book is mainly just one long poem on most of the pages. There are a few pages that have a small square in the centre where you can either write something or attach a photo, but not very many. The ribbon to attach the pet tags is just like a bookmark ribbon that hangs out the bottom of the book. If you just want a book to read, this one is ok. But if you want to use it as a keepsake to put photos, memorabilia, and journal, it is not what you want.
