Works perfect
I have seen some of the reviews that show a lot of movement where the pitcher is housed. Looks like flimsy base. What I have learned by using this product for months now. Yes, there is a lot of movement where the pitcher is placed. However, no matter where the pitcher is placed on the base, the pitcher lid is designed at an angle, so it will always drip into the pitcher. I have not had any issues. If you want a true high quality product, you are going to need to pay a helluva lot more. We use this product every other day. One thing we do after each use, is turn the machine over into the sink and slightly shake any excess water (there is usually a little bit of water left in the reservoir) to help dry out machine. We always keep the machine unplugged. We also position the percolator arm to the back, so that the lid lays on it and stays open for a few hours to dry out. Machine has been well worth it to us. We have zero complaints about this inexpensive option. I rather enjoy this machine, we don't use ice during the brewing, we double brew basically to the top of the pitcher (let it cool, while cooling I put all my teabags into the pitcher to steep for extra 30 mins) and then add cold water to fill our other gallon pitcher to the top and refrigerate, then we add ice into the glasses. Fun tidbit of information is when I double brew, I put 10 regular size green tea bags into the filter (for my gallon pitcher) and 4 or 5 country peach tea bags (from celestial seasonings) and it makes yummy peach tea!! Have fun!!!

Love it
A year later, still loving it. This tea maker is in constant use so I’m glad it’s such a pretty blue because it’s always out on the counter. It brews nice, it doesn’t take too long, it doesn’t leak. It’s simple, pour water in, put the tea bags in the basket, close the lid, push the button. There’s no unnecessary steps or pieces. You can adjust the strength of the brew. I’m ordering a 2nd for work.

This is a curious beast
I bought this to replace an 11 year old Mr. Coffee that I used to make tea that quit working. This is a very simple machine--there is "brew" button to start the cycle and "brew strength" slider and that's it. If you want to turn it off mid-brew for some reason you pull the cord, there is no off button. At the end of the brew cycle it turns off but there are no sound notifications. It brews very hot so lift the lid carefully if you do so right after it turns off. It has a tall carafe but you can only fill it about 1/3 with water (to the marked water line, approx 8 cups) and that fills the machine's water reservoir. The idea from the instructions is you fill the water reservoir then put a large amount of ice in the carafe, then brew, and "presto", ice tea. If like me you want to brew just straight tea and chill it (with my Mr Coffee I would fill the 12 cup carafe twice, pour it into a separate container and have enough tea for maybe 3 days) you can't fill the carafe full without using a 2nd container to hold the tea then pour it back in the carafe when done. I'll continue to use a 2nd container as I did with the Mr. Coffee and brew the same amount of tea to chill as I used to, but with this tea maker I'll have to do 3 brews to fill it as much as I'm used to. There's no cleaning cycle on it for mineral build-up and nothing listed in the manual so I'll either find something online or make up my own based on the cleaning cycles in my former Mr. Coffee and a Keurig we have. Slightly disappointed in the lack of features other than the basic but it does the job.And it does brew a decent cup of tea.

Pitcher breaks after a few uses.
Hot and cold makes the pitcher crack after about a years worth of making the tea. I bought it for my brother and he loves it, but the bottom of the pitcher finally gave in. He uses a make shift pitcher now, because its not a heat plate, the tea maker still works great, just that type of plastic is always going to break sooner and later.

So far so good
It’s been a long time since ai had to buy a new ice tea maker. I like it so far. Seems very easy to use. I wish there was a way to close the hole in the top of the lid once the tea is made. I always use the pitcher to store but with it open on the top, no way to plug up the hole in the lid, I have to use a different pitcher for storing in the fridge. Besides that, works as expected and easy enough to clean. I use regular tea bags so I haven’t tried loose tea or coffee.
