Preen 2164099 Garden Weed Preventer Plant Food, 13 lb. Covers 2,080 sq. ft

I moved into my first home and have a small enough backyard that I don't want to pay for a gardener but was so surprised at how much time I was spending picking weeds. I was weary of buying anything like this - I was convinced it would be a waste of money or kill all my plants but after 6+ months I love this product. I first picked all the weeds, and then sprinkled the product over the exposed area, watered and was done! It completely eliminated all my weeds for months. The second time was more of a 'touch up' in winter - there wasn't much weed growth but I wanted to keep them at bay. I like that the product comes with a scooper, handle, and reusable lid. No complaints at all.

Last Spring we used Preen Weed Preventer in our garden and we're pleased with the results. Of course, we applied our rose food and plant fertilizer separately. This year upon discovering there was Preen Weed Preventer with plant food, we purchased 3 containers and put it down in our garden in early March after doing our usual early Spring clean up of trimming bushes, replanting and pulling weeds that developed over the winter. Sorry to say that we have noticed more weeds coming up in the garden now compared to last year when we used the Preen Weed Preventor w/o plant food so won't be purchasing the product with the plant food additive any more.

I was not happy. It did not control the weeds. I think the weed control part is missing. It's just fertilizer and the weeds were out of control everywhere.

I'm sure there is plant food in this but I'm also pretty sure there is weed food. There is certainly no weed KILLER in it.I followed the directions to a tee and a week later there were tons of small weeds already sprouting. I've given it another week now (I'm two weeks into my first application) and those weeds are flourishing. Another reviewer mentioned that it seems like they forgot to include the weed killer portion in this product and I completely agree. It's possible it's fertilizing my plants but it's also possible it's fertilizing the weeds--it's definitely not killing them.Very disappointed.

We use this every year in our flower beds. It was recommended by our landscaping company and it works great as a plant food and weed preventer. We are definitely repeat buyers.

Used it to preen our quarter acre front yard. Used about half the container. My landscaper contractor put us onto it. Seen a big difference thus far.

Product arrived as promised. However, even though the product was sealed and the top taped, the container still managed to pop open at one corner. The USPS mail carrier brought it to my door in a plastic tote tub, as product was spilling out of the packaging box. When I opened the box and took out the Preen contaner I could see the right front corner was opened about a 1/4 inch and product was spilling out. It was a 16 pound net weight, and I lost just a little over 4 pounds of product, about 25%. Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied.

I took back my yard this summer, no more weeds. It took several of these pails starting in March up to September, but it has absolutely been worth the price (I have a large front yard.) I was getting these through Walmart grocery pick up and they are no longer available. I don't feel comfortable going into stores still, if I don't have to, and was happy to find this on Amazon and at a lower price that Lowe's or Home Depot's curbside pickup - plus it has fertilizer, my other purchases were the plain Preen. I will forever have this in my garage. I tried being "green" and using pre-emergent corn gluten, but is was more expensive, harder to find, and I didn't see any results. Preen is my hero!
