Water and weather proof. Will want to have layers underneath but definitely keeps out water and wind. I don’t go out to sea but use on my farm on top of a mountain where winters are very cold and very windy. Some may dislike the pvc plastic smell but not really a big deal in my opinion.

As my wife states.......I'm not a petite flower. I'm 6'5" 250lbs. I wear 36 x 36 pants and XL TALL shirts. I've worked on tugboats most of my life and am a commercial diver in New England. Their is no substitute for being comfortable and warm when your trying to get things done. I have suffered for over a decade with XL Grundens rain pants and jacket. It is too short for me. I finally went on a spending spree a few weekends ago wearing my too short rain gear. My old rain coat, the bottom of the jacket was near my belt line...........raise your arms up or bend over and the bottom of the jacket would ride up over the pants..........result=wet butt.So the sleeve of this jacket (from armpit of the jacket to the cuff of the jacket) is 23 inches. At the neck, where the hood joins the jacket to the bottom of the jacket is 34 inches. Measuring from the armpit to my wrist........my arm is 23 inches long. The bottom of the jacket, when I'm standing upright; reaches the bottom of my butt. Plenty of room when I'm bending over or reaching over head to cover the rain pants (also XL TALL) and keep me dry. My old jacket didn't have the neoprene cuff...........that is an AWESOME ADDITION!! Keeps the rain from running down the arm when reaching overhead. The jacket and pants also have plenty of room for me to layer up with warm clothes. I wear these when its snowing too. When its below freezing and your working out on deck you need to deal with the salt spray........you want to room for extra layers. There was nothing wrong with my old rain gear......just old.........AND TOO SHORT!! After the first rain storm wearing that gear.......my thoughts were WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG!!! There is just no substitute for gear that fits right and works. I get a little smile on my face when putting my rain gear on now...........my wife commented on that. Hopefully this will help someone else when deciding what jacket to get.........XL or XL TALL.

Love this product! It is durable, flexible and the color is fantastic. I also like the fast shipping and the packaging. You can tell that a lot of love and care was put into the making of this product and that's why it is worth every penny. I use this product to make my nightly deliveries and this will definitely add an extra joy to it.

Fortunately I listened to a particular review and can confirm: 6'/195lbs and the Medium Tall fits perfectly - room for layering without being huge.

Set in inner sleeves to protect from water going down your arms is as asset. High quality stitching. Good weight for commercial fishing. Heavy enough but pliable. Mid length good for summer fishing.

Quality is terrific my only concern or dislike was the hood. It’s big almost as it was made to go over a hard hat even when ties are pulled tightly. In a strong storm you will stay dry

So, this is an awesome jacket and highly recommended, especially the neoprene cuffs. This is not a strike to Grundens or Amazon, but UPS has still not delivered this item.Amazon has refunded me and I ended up finding one at my local West Marine in Orange. Still wish I had in White to match my bibs, but staying dry while tournament fishing in the Spring out of Folly Beach, SC is critical. We run 50 miles each way offshore and a NE wind makes for a very wet ride home! If I ordered again, I would get a Medium, it's right on the cusp. Fits well when bundled up in multiple layers, but is really loose when just wearing a T-shirt. Grundens will always be my preferred foul weather gear and again the neoprene cuffs are a huge upgrade to my last jacket which by the way lasted 8 years and is still a great backup for guests with no gear!

Great parka! I used it while working as a deckhand for the 2017 sockeye season in Bristol Bay Alaska. It kept me dry the entire time and fit well over my other clothes. Definitely worth the money.

Die Größen fallen bei Grundens wohl größer aus als sonst - hatte XXL bestellt (was ich normalerweise habe), das war eindeutig zuviel des Guten! Und das Modell ist ein wenig gewöhnungsbedürftig (die Bündchen z.B.), auch die Farbe. Aber die Qualität - was besseres gegen Regen habe ich bisher noch nicht gesehen, dickes Material, doppelte Knopfleiste, Kapuze mit Schnürsenkeln (!) und - die Bündchen (fest und dicht). Wegen Größe & Modell leider zurück, aber es gibt einen Grundéns-Fan mehr! (werde ein anderes Modell bestellen)
