Lyman fixed the problem
Initially would not seat primers flush. I got hold of Lyman, they admitted that there was an issue, and said it had been resolved. Within a week, they sent me a new one and it works perfectly. Great ergonomic design. I’ve got big hands and it fits nicely. Kudos to Lyman!!!

Save your money and headaches, buy the Lee
Really, really, really wanted to like this. Wanted one where I could squeeze with my fingers, not my thumb (like the much cheaper Lee). Wanted one that didn't require another entire set of shell holders (like the Lee). Lyman delivered on all of those, but from minute one this was a supreme disappointment. Started priming some 223 cases with it (primary use) and it felt pretty smooth and positive. But then it all got worse from there.Problem list:1. Primers can shuffle around in the path on the way up enough to not always be centered with the pocket. This led to 13 of the first 100 primers seating crooked and getting crushed. Had to deprime all of them.2. Feeding could be tricky as sometimes the primers will crowd at the gate. Also, if you start to squeeze and feel resistance and back off, sometimes a second primer will fall in and try to double stack them on your next attempt.3. Dimples on all the primers! Every. Single. One. Of the ones that seated without being crushed, that is. See attached photos. This was the nail in the coffin for this tool. Not only were the primers dimpled, they were SEATED PROUD! So the tool is pushing hard enough in the center to put a dimple in the primer, but they are still above level with the case head. Unacceptable in a semi auto! I looked closely at the priming ram and there is a corresponding high spot on there as well. Thinking it could be a defect, I compared to the large primer tool, and same exact thing. Being mechanically inclined and having access to a machine lathe, I decided to face that little bump right off of there. And I did. And the dimples went away. Problem solved? NO, see #4.4. No depth adjustment. After removing the bumps on the priming rams (precisely, ONLY down to the lower face, NO material was removed from the low portion of the face) the primers no longer had dimples, but were nowhere close to being flush or below case head level. If there were ANY way to add even a few thousands of adjustment, this could be usable.Hopefully Lyman customer service will come through. In the meantime, this item is keeping the fan from blowing the pages of my reloading book around while I prime with my Lee Auto Prime.

Works very well with a Lyman shellholder
There are reviews suggesting that this primer tool requires modifications, or is straight up defective. Please have a look at the attached images. The shell holder measuring .0655" is a basic Lyman shell holder for a .308win and the like. The shell holder measuring .0965" is a basic RCBS for the same caliber, and finally at .1230" is a Hornady shell holder also for the same caliber. I HIGHLY recommend using a Lyman shell holder on this tool and it will be a great addition to your reloading equipment. With the Lyman shell holder there is no issue setting the primer.Keep your powder dry

Well designed and easy to use !!
I bought this item before, but I managed to lose it during a move, I liked it well enough to buy it again !!Simply put, it works well for it's intended purpose, and with routine maintenance it should last many years !!

It's ok at best.
So, all in all, it is ok. I have reloaded several hundred rounds using this and here are my observations.1) The large primers (rifle and pistol) do just fine. Small primers (both rifle and pistol) do not fully seat. I have to use another priming tool to fully seat the primer. This is my second one (first one broke) and I noticed that with the small primer tray on the first one as well.2) There is a plastic tab that goes inside the shell holder to line up the primers. This is cheaply done. During normal use, I had a primer snag that plastic on the small primer tray and distort it. It has not caused an issue that I have noticed, but it is an annoyance on a brand new item.3) In the small primer tray, primers do manage to flip over. I have not had any other priming tool that allowed primers to flip. Once again, an annoyance. It is not a terrible tool. I like the design of it, but it just doesn't work the way I would like. Hope this helps.

Only Works Correct W/Lyman Shell holder
Works Nice, but only with LYMAN shell holders. Other brands of shell holders will fit in place, but primer will be seated halfway into the case pocket. When using a LYMAN shell holder this priming tool will seat primers all the way into case pockets. So if you already have LYMAN shell holders, this priming tool will work correct.. For .223 rem: Lyman shell #26, Primers **WILL**, seat all the way into case pocket......****** For .223 rem, Other brands of shell holders like. RCBS #10... Lee #4... Hornady #16 PRIMER **WILL NOT** BE SEAT-ED ALL THE WAY INTO CASE POCKET, ******

Accepts other manufacturers shell holders and works!
Another brand I used required the use of their shell holders. This priming tool works like a charm.

Works fine with standard press shell holders
Works reliably with both pistol and rifle primers. Good quality product, but primer containers don't seem too sturdy, so handle with care. I'm happy with it so far.

Unfortunately Terrible
Lyman disappointed with this product. Well made but ram is too short and will not seat primers below the case rim. They stick out, no matter what you do. Dangerous in .357 and .38 Special. No fix, just will not work. Had two units, both flawed !
