Watercolours Unleashed

Great book, mostly for beginners but there's something for everyone who's been trying to learn techniques for loose, innovative watercolor painting. I don't care for the heavily 3-D techniques such as gluing on seeds, sequins, etc., but there's plenty of less kitschy stuff to hold people's interest. Half the book is basic materials and techniques. If you're a more intermediate to advanced watercolorist, you might feel a bit disappointed.

Love, love....its creative, fun, with showing you methods of watercolour designs/ painting. It even made me create some of my own techniques.....as once you get to creating and painting new techniques it gives you inspiration to try some of your own

I recently took a watercolor class and wanted some books to keep me inspired after I was finished. This book has so many creative techniques that even a beginner can use.

I really loved the techniques shown in this book by Jane Bettenridge. Really great step by step tutorials that intermediate painters can follow easily.

This book is very well done. The descriptions of the color mixing and new ideas with techniques for textures made for a very inspiring read and I can't wait to try Some! Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for new and fresh painting.

I bought this book as a gift for my mum, she paints in her spare time for fun but is not a beginner. She absolutely loves this book and has already been trying out some of the new techniques detailed. She even took the book to her weekly art class and two of her classmates have since ordered it. She says "it is exactly what it says it is! ... full of fabulous ideas for texture etc"

Just reading Jane’s introduction at the beginning of the book makes you want to get started straight away. There is a lot of useful information about products, colour mixing and techniques. The projects are varied and have clear instructions with pictures for each step if the way. I’ve followed Jane’s tutorials before and enjoy her teaching style. For anyone who wants to take their watercolour painting to another level - this is a must have book!

I bought this for my husband at Christmas. He was just getting back into watercolour painting, and found the imaginative ideas very inspiring. He has enjoyed trying out several of the techniques and it has kick-started his enthusiasm for painting again!

What a brilliant book. I have many watercolour books but this is probably the best. It certainly has inspired me more than any other. The world of watercolour has taken on a new life for me.

This is an excellent book to help loosen up your watercolours which I need to do. It also has some wonderful suggestions for colour mixes. a great book for any watercolourist.
