Excellent Value
Worked perfect in a Dell mini computer under Windows 10. No problems communicating with any serial device I have needed to. Highly recommended.

Perfect for Ham radio
Purchased to connect my Kenwood 2000 and my Kenwood 590s to my computer and be able to run programs from Kenwood and Ham Radio Deluxe. Unit comes in a full style profile and needs to be separated to connect to a low profile style computer. I have big hands so it was a PIA for me but got it done. Installed CD and looked for windows 11 64 bit driver. Ran setup and it was done. Both radios connected without issues. Just make sure to setup your port for the radio. Mine was 5 and 7. Also if you have no Cd player you can do a search for the driver on the CD and it will be available for download for free.

Works with legacy equipment even when USB serial ports don't.
I have been trying to get the CAT port on my old Yaesu FT-847 working for some time now. Putting a scope on the Rx pin of the radio I noticed that the levels seemed very low at about 3 volts. This was using a USB serial port CAT cable purchased specifically for this radio. I thought why not try a more traditional serial port and ordered this product. Installation went smoothly and my Windows 11 PC soon showed two new serial ports. Connecting one to the radio with a F-F null modem cable and initialized everything at 4800 baud. Bang just like that the CAT port lit up and started working. Looking at the levels on the scope, they are more like 10 volts now.

Needed extra patch on Arch Linux
I had to install an extra patch from the AUR to get the ASIX AX99100 chip to work on a modern Arch Linux install, and I'm having trouble getting this to work in early userspace -- GRUB doesn't see it, and the driver is loaded late into kernel initialization (so it's trickier to get console= to work). Figured I would flag this for anyone else trying to use this for kernel console access.

Works as intended
I have an old Zebra ZM4Plus and this was the only way to get a new server to communicate with it. USB to Serial did not work. Anyone out there reading this review, please know that the old Zebra printers do not communicate with those USB to serial devices, you need the PCI or PCIe direct to motherboard communication.

Drivers are available through Windows Update
Works perfectly - If you are running Windows 11 you do not need to use the CD to install the driver - Just go to Windows Update and go to Advanced Options - Driver Updates (You will need to do this twice as the first update is for the controller, the 2nd update is for the COM Ports themselves).

If You Are Hanging On To Ancient PC Accessories It's What You Need
Still have a few peripherals that like a 9 pin serial port and updated the PC motherboard and OS. Installed like any other expansion card. PC booted and the device manager wanted a device driver. Drivers are on the included mini CD, could not find them online. Bravely selected the installation executable in the Windows 11 64 bit folder and zap, we have com ports. Package included a pair of low profile brackets if your case needs them. Now the ham radio connection works with no USB dongles. I might look up a parallel port card and get the Okidata Microline dot matrix printer online again too.

Connected the card , I had to get a PCIe extension cable . It works , only issue was finding the 64 bit windows 11 drivers . Working great now . Would buy this product again if ever needed.

I used it for my Amateur radio hobby. It made a program, that I could not get to work, worked as I was hoping it would.
