One Piece Wooden Sauerkraut Tamper (Sassafras)

This tamper is rather sizable. It fits in a wide mouth mason jar as advertised. The finish on it is very smooth and didn't need any cleaning up. One thing that I agree with from other reviewers is that it is DRY! You really should wipe this down with food safe oil like either cutting board oil (bed bath and beyond...or even here) or go to the drug store and get a bottle of mineral oil from the laxative section and use that. Pour some in your hands and wipe it down. Wait a few minutes and wipe off the excess and let it dry overnight. Works well.As much as I don't sanction violence in the home...the Mrs agreed that it would make an excellent husband whumpy stick.
