OK for very short durations
As other reviewers have mentioned, the cooling pack isn't very big, especially for the small-sized harness pack, and it doesn't stay cold for more than an hour. We live part-time in South Texas and the cooling pack hasn't stayed cold for more than 30 minutes during 15 minute walks in 75 degree Fall weather. That's not hot by any means for Texas weather, so I don't anticipate that the cooling pack will stay cold for more than 15 minutes in normal, 85+ degree Summer heat. It's likely a better solution if you live in milder weather and/or only plan on taking your dog out for very short durations of time on hot days.

cooling vest
the idea is great however it doesn't work in practice. the little vest doesn't keep my dog long enough to walk a block down the street. She's a Boston Terrier so she over heats quickly. perhaps it would be good to keep a dog warm but I haven't tried that as we live in SW Florida where it stays very very warm year round

Smaller than I thought
Didn't actually use it. Had to send it back b/c the harness was too small for my dog. But it was much smaller than I thought it would be. I don't think it would last too long in 90+ degree heat.

Not what I expected
These are 'skimpy' compared to the gel packs that come with the harness, i.e., they contained less gel than the originals.

Works in our hot climate, but only for a short time
Got this as an extra pack to use with the harness. I live in the Philippines so it's hot and humid here. The pax is handy, but because of our weather, it doesn't stay as cold for as long as I thought it could. I don't know how long the pax stays cold over there in the States, but here it's about an hour or less, tops. Though it does work, I only gave it the 4 Stars as it doesn't stay cold too long over here.

They suck! They are thin and do not get cold. Not like original
The chill pack that came with the harness is thicker than these. The original gets chilly. This one was ver very thin and did not get chilly no matter how long in the fridge. SO DISAPPOINTING! and these things are very expensive for a small chilly strip. What is wrong with you KUMFY TAILZ? I love the original and harness(although the sizing is off and they run bit) Why don't you make the same quality replacement chilly pads. I won't be buying these or the harness for my 2nd dog due to this. :(

Kumfy Tailz freezer pack
they freez well and hold the cool for at least 3 hours, it worked perfectly when I transported my dog in the car, it kept him cool and comfy
